i think that south park angst is the funniest thing ever. i can almost never take it seriously, cause someone will make a comic or write a story about one of the characters breaking up with someone, or getting killed in the most gut wrenching, toe curling way possible, or go through the most heartbreaking emotional turmoil imaginable. and then the character in question looks like this:

Can you imagine the sheer confusion and fear American villains must’ve undergone when All Might was in America? Like, just think of how it would feel to have a very large Japanese man yelling the names of your country’s states at you right before he hits you with enough force to level a city. And United States of Smash is the ultimate power move, just yell the name of the country you’re in at your opponent until they cry. Every villain he faced in America was probably just doing this

Bc ever since I saw him I can’t stop thinking about how he’s a weaboo, but for America.
I personally like to imagine that All Might has a fondness for American diners, burger joints, and other such restaurants. One enterprising American opened up their own classic American diner in Japan having realized this. They are incredibly wealthy and All Might drags all of his friends and acquaintances there whenever he gets the chance.

Alright I have been enabled so I’m gonna say somethings.
Fatalistic sarcasm is a thing, however, it usually hides deep feelings of insecurity, and whether you consciously recognize this or not, it validates them. Seriously, I used to constantly make jokes about how other people’s work was better than mine, and it did nothing for my self-esteem, it was a tool to deflect from my own feelings of inferiority and it actively worked against me thinking critically about my own and other people’s work. If it was a joke I could put myself down instead of analyzing why someone’s work was better and trying to incorporate that into my own
As someone who took creative writing courses I was constantly surrounded by other brilliant people, if I hung my head in shame every time I read something as good or better than mine I never would have lifted it.
As someone who has watched a lot of writers with very good idea’s crash and burn I mean it when I say you either develop a healthy sense of respect for your own work or you stop writing.
There’s three things I really wish more people consider
1. Do you think their work is better because it’s a different style, one that you like? There’s an element to ‘the grass is greener on the other side’, I have seen people work in some amazing styles that I wished to god I could replicate, some I managed, some I never did, but there’s nothing wrong with either. having a different style Is Not the same as having a bad style, each has their own strengths and you can admire one without putting yours down
2. Knowing someone who is a better writer is a blessing and if they knew you were using their work to bring yourself down they would not be happy, mooch off that friend, analyze their work, ask them to edit your shit, as long as you’re not annoying them be shameless about it. the best thing creative writing did for me was give me the confidence to ask people to critic my work and shamelessly better each other for that sharing
3. People need to normalize being confident in their work, the quality of your work has literally nothing to do with your worth as a person, the quality of your work has nothing to do with your worth as a writer. You can write something really shitty and the only thing I’d say to you is that your trying and I respect you for that

A small detail I really enjoy is how Jirou interacts with her own quirk outside of hero work.
If I had earjacks I can extend like a seatbelt I would also be twirling it around my finger like people do with stands of hair!! And she also uses it to plug into her phone to listen to music, and use for the throwing darts in her room instead of throwing with her hands. That’s so cool!!! Small stuff like that shows that people do go about their day to day lives with superpowers in this universe!!!
I also like when she used them to sort of hug Momo and Kaminari (and Tokoyami but he was cut out!! :c), and how they were used to restrain her and Kaminari together during the Togota fight.
She also tugs on them when she’s flustered or annoyed at times. So I’d like to imagine that they could maybe react differently for other feelings. Maybe like a dog wagging its tail when it’s excited or a cat’s tail flicking when irritated.
It’s details like this that really make Jirou feel a lot more expressive, and I wish that some other characters could use their quirks in more casual settings, since they likely were doing so during their everyday lives before getting into UA.
I also wish that we could’ve seen what her feelings about basically losing half her quirk were! Like I understand not fully processing it during the war since you’re just trying to survive, but it makes me wonder how that would affect her day to day life.
Like could she have hearing issues from having a vital part of her body torn off? Could she maybe feel guilty about feeling any grief over what she lost, kind of like a “it could’ve been worse because others lost more” way?? Such as with Deku and Hawks losing their quirks entirely.
And she did get a prosthetic, but I’m sure it took way longer than what was shown in the final episodes for her to grow accustomed to her post-war life.
But at the same time I get that it was the last few episodes and the main four of 1-A were having their arcs wrapped up. So there probably wasn’t enough time for exploring something like that with a supporting character :(.

i think the idea and all the fanarts of teacher Deku smoking is rlly funny. Because like yeah I can kind of see the appeal but also not really.
But at the same time I still see timeskip Deku sort of like the “I’m cool!” screenshot from SpongeBob. And like idk I just don’t see him having a cigarette in his hand while he’s grading papers guys!! I think he would have like a really bad habit of chewing on his pens or something like that though.
Also my headcannon is that when he was like 8 or so there was some anti-smoking add that had All Might in it and I think that would’ve been ingrained in his head and he would think “All Might said smoking is not plus ultra so I can’t disappoint him!!” or something like that.
