About thinking the Lilo & Stitch Live-Action looks “cute! Good, even!”

Don’t you get it?

They played the music you heard as a little kid. They combined a cute little child actress with all the features of animals your brain is programmed to love—bunny, cat, puppy, dye it blue—and they got the guy who originally voiced Stitch under contract to come back.

“Yeah, well, who wouldn’t think that’s cute?”

It’s a little girl and an amalgamation of your favorite animals set to your childhood. Of course it rings the “cute” bell.

That doesn’t mean it’s good.

It means you’re Pavlov’s dog. They rang a bell, you started drooling for your mint.

A good movie. Is about. The music and the cuteness and the acting ALLLL working TOGETHER. Working together towards what? Working together towards reminding or convincing you of a good, beautiful, true MAIN POINT.

The main point of the original Lilo & Stitch was “Family is choosing to love one another and belong to one another even when you’re flawed.”

It’s why Lilo NOT SCREAMING when she meets Stitch, in contrast to EVERY OTHER CHARACTER WHO MEETS HIM BESIDES HER, is important. Because she’s chosen to love him despite his ugly monstrousness.

It’s why Stitch NOT UNDERSTANDING THAT HE’S BAD is important. Because it would be easier to love a little fellow who wants to be good, versus the actual character Stitch is: bad, likes being bad, and can’t help it on his own.

It’s why Lilo would NEVER IMPLY that “family members are morally good even when they’re not perfect” because if that were the lesson, she would not be trying to teach him to quit wrecking everything he touches, Nani would not try to make Lilo understand that she shouldn’t bite her classmates and would not try to stop herself from yelling at her. No. Family won’t give up on you when you’re bad, but that doesn’t mean they let you keep being bad and call it “good.”

The movie is going to suck because they got the characters wrong down to their core, and because they think all it takes to get you to drool is by ringing a fuzzy CGI bell that sounds like the music and voices from your childhood, which proves they’re lazy.

And they’re right to think that.

Because all you are like “Wow! Disney looks like they’re going to nail this one—based on the trailer where Lilo reacts the same way to Stitch that everybody else does and Stitch is the size of a terrier instead of the size of Lilo herself—duhhhh except for Pleakley not crossdressing lol”

For those who don't know or are new to the fandom, keep an eye out for user thatt.echn_ique! she posts this shit on her twitter (and a history of drawing hat kid with massive ass/thighs in scantily clad/fetishy outfits) because she knows the tumblr side of the fandom got her kicked out of the official ahit discord! but yeah hey newbies just know that this person is a pedophile and if you see her in a server....be careful!

Yes, dangers, you read that part right. 

I’ve heard plenty of stories either off to the side or directly from people, including minors, who feel extremely uncomfortable with not only the way Thatti draws Hat Kid, both in terms of poses and attire which never fail to make me gag and shudder whenever I run across them, but also in how she interacts with people and responds to such accusations about both herself and her work. I’ve heard stories about people leaving servers that she’s in because they did not feel safe with her around, however out of respect for their privacy I will not mention any of the names of those who have spoken about her. 

Her mentality is dangerous, her attitude is dangerous, her artwork is dangerous, and I would recommend she be avoided at all costs to not promote such... blatant objectification and sexual views of children, regardless of whether that child is fictional or not. 

But this is literally too important to ignore at this point.

I don’t like the idea of sexualizing fictional child characters any more than y’all do, but the sad fact of the matter is, stuff like this is going to happen in every fandom, regardless of your opinion on it (why do you think Rule 34 exists?). If you can believe it, Thatti is actually on the lower end of the spectrum in this regard. Why? Because at least in all of her drawings (as far as I know), Hat Kid is fully clothed.  You really wanna give yourselves a heart attack? Go to Paheal and see how many pictures of Hat Kid there are (it’s 477, as of this posting, BTW). Personally, I see that the best way to deal with stuff like this is to ignore it, because she’s clearly not going to stop. 

Also, I find it funny how you guys seem to take issues with Thatti’s drawings, and yet are perfectly OK with Hat Kid getting beaten LITERALLY INTO A BLOODY PULP BY MU AND GETTING IMPALED BY A KNIFE.

Numerous people, both minors and adults have said that her stuff makes them uncomfortable, that it normalizes viewing the kids sexually. That is why we're fighting against her.

On your counterargument, gore is not inherently sexual, nor does Dweller make it like that. The focus of their gore art is for horror, or the sheer devastation on characters in a what if this was real way, because guess what? The pictures you picked were based off of canon fights. Mu deliberately tried to kill Hat Kid, the Conductor used real knives against Hat Kid. They're based in canon.

2) Please for the Love of God do some critical thinking before you attack one singular artist for a topic that wasn't even brought up.
