“DREAM!”
That's all I managed to hear come from my older brothers’ mouth, my vision and hearing starting to slowly fade out.
I finally saw footprints close to me by time my ears wouldn't work at all. I watched my brother's boots quickly tapping across the ground, and towards me.
Those familiar boots skid to a stop as they almost hit me in the arm, slipping out from under their owner as knees fell in front of my face.
I only saw his lips move as he trembled, me wishing that I could hear his precious voice again. My eyes started to slip close. He only seemed to try to yell louder, the tears running like a waterfall down his pitiful face.
I could hear for only a split second more before I was knocked out by pain, the last words I was 100% sure I would never be able to hear again being said.
“I love you,” he said quietly, only so the two of us could hear. “Thank you for raising me, and being the best younger brother ever.”
I smiled brightly at my brother, nodding softly. “Thank you,” I said. “For being the best older brother, and for saving my life.”
“No prob, bro.”
There was a couple moments of silence, both of us hugging each other tightly.
A shout of my brother's name startled us, him flinching badly and scrambling to stand up.
“I-I’ll be right back!”
I frowned, letting my brother's scarf go. “Okay..”
“Good luck, brother.”
Standing above him, my foot was crushing my brother's hand, his sword being squished out from his tight grip. “Oh yeah?” I said rather harshly. “Good luck in hell!”
He let a tear or two fall, the other hand that wasn't being stepped on and broken gradually lifting to touch the wound in his chest.
“ . . . ”
He sniffed. “I'm sorry I couldn't help you better,” he choked out between sobs.
I smirked hesitantly.
“Too late now,” Ink said quietly. “You can't take back what you did or said now, Dream. I hope you mature better than before,” he whispered the last part, before walking off.
I only continued to sob on my office chair, gripping at my arms to tightly that they may leave my arms to bleed.
Wishing, that's all I can do. But it wont ever work or be the same. EVER.
Why had I been so stupid?
