My shift today got delayed starting from noon to 2pm due to extreme weather. Nothing was communicated in terms of meeting locations. We were then assigned bars and went there to prep. It rained most of the day and we then had to shelter in place due to lightning for a long time. When it was safe, we went back to our bars and began serving. Many of the bartenders I meet are nice and talented. They make several hundreds of dollars a night at their other jobs and I feel pretty inadequate in comparison. I don't feel like a real bartender sometimes. It was slow as hell and one guy straight up told me he wasn't tipping because the beer was too expensive. I don't set the fucking price, it's a FIFA event designed to extract money from people. Anyways, we stopped serving at 9pm. I went to the office to ask about contracts that we haven't signed yet and how we are unable to see our tips yet. I got the brush off on both. This is really starting to feel like a waste of time but I have nothing else on the go and have to stick with it.
