Kishi Bashi “Say Yeah"
Here’s a lush, dreamy, 70′s pop-inspired new single from wonderful singer / songwriter Kishi Bashi, plus he has an album / tour coming this year. He’s amazing live, so don’t miss out.

DYAN, WHAT ALBUM ARTWORK
Firefighters are still battling massive wildfires that forced mass evacuations of some 80,000 people earlier this week in Alberta, Canada.
Canadian police are escorting a convoy of evacuees through the wreckage, CBC News reports, out of the oil sands camps where they had been staying since Tuesday. As many as 8,000 people have been airlifted to safety, reporter Dan Karpenchuk tells our Newscast unit.
People needed to be taken out of the camps because of limited food and fuel, he says.

Gone gone gone
So this dude seems to have come out of nowhere, as good things often do. A backup musician for many prominent bands in the area, he apparently also did some carpentry work for music studios in his early days. Similarly, early in his career, Harrison Ford built studios and sundecks for the famous before he skyrocketed.
So watch out everyone. Keep an eye on those carpenters.

Animals At The Altar - New Academics. After a lengthy break, New Academics are finally back with a brand new album. Featuring original members, Joe Penn (vocals) and David Baudains (guitar), the lineup now features two new members, Rob Storm (drums), from Heroes Wear Red, and Jacques “Jambo” du Plessis (bass), previously of Wrestlerish, although, the multi-talented virtuoso, Baudains recorded all the bass on the album. It’s a fantastic return to form and I’m so glad that they’ve recorded new music. ‘Animals At The Altar’ is the first track from the record, and as expected, Joe Penn’s lyrics are smart as ever, built around Baudains’ incredible riffage. Check it out. Contributed by @SchweppsRocka
