I'm desperately attempting to wrap my head around out how Linnell's 2D mouth would interact with 3D food.
Flans has a normal human mouth, and it has the illusion of depth when facing forwards. Like you could envision how someone would draw/animate 3D food interacting with his 2D mouth.
But Linnell? How is that bitch keeping 3D food in his mouth to chew it? It's like having scissors for a mouth.
Does he have to like, shove the food all the way back into his cheeks where there'd presumably be some 3D space...probably, close his mouth, and then push the food with his tongue into his extended lips where his teeth are in order to chew it? Because like, once it's already in there, and the space is closed, the 2D-ness of the extended lips wouldn't matter anymore...I guess? Maybe?
Am I even making sense anymore? I'm speculating about the exact details behind the physical logic of how a 2D character interacts with 3D food, and combining it with cartoon logic behind how you'd communicate that to a viewer without breaking their suspension of disbelief.
Idk maybe the food just turns 2D upon contact with his lips.
honestly i always thought his mouth was 3d as well (i guess i should’ve taken his 3/4ths inbetween frame in wdtsrs into account) but the thought of linnell biting into something and his lips basically giving the food a paper cut made me laugh
i also like the idea of linnell pushing food all the way back into his mouth. he’s like a weird chipmunk. i love this freak
