Painting is so important to who Feyre is. It is one of two outlets that she enjoyed as a human. It’s one of the few things that Rhys saw UTM that kept him sane. She used her painting to process her feelings about the mating bond. Her interest in art and painting even changes how she sees the world.

In the first book, the only thing she wanted was to have the time and freedom to paint. Art was the first thing she opened up to tamlin about.

She uses her love of art to provide creative outlets for people in Velaris through her studio. It’s how she made her first friend that wasn’t in the IC. It’s how she shows affection for her family, processes trauma, and how she generally wants to spend her time.
