We adopted this bougainvillea before we lived here. It lived in a pot with a small trellis until we settled it into the ground here 17 years ago. Since then, the wooden trellis has fallen apart. Many times I’ve thought the bougainvillea didn’t survive a winter frost. Aloha my pua melia ❤️ A few years ago, a nighttime critter broke a main branch off my tall plumeria. When I found it, I took the branch and shoved it into a terra cotta pot full of fertile organic potting soil to see if it would root and survive. It did!
