🚨This is a Red Alert for net neutrality 🚨
Last December, the FCC voted to to kill net neutrality. If we do not take action, this will kill the free and open internet as we know it. The internet needs you—all of you—to make sure your voices are heard NOW.
We need all hands on deck for this one. It may be our last chance. If you’re feeling under-informed and overwhelmed about why net neutrality is so incredibly important, we have this handy guide just for you.
Here’s what you can do to save the internet:
In mid-May, the Senate will vote on a resolution to overrule the FCC using the Congressional Review Act (CRA). We only need one more vote in the Senate to win. Write or call your Senators or Representatives. You can also text BATTLE to 384-387 to get more information on how to write to your reps. You can do this, Tumblr.
Join us and dozens of your other favorite companies like Etsy, Vimeo, Reddit, and GitHub to raise awareness with the Red Alert campaign being run by Battle for the Net. Just add this small widget to your Tumblr to let your followers know how they can contact their reps. It’s as easy as copying and pasting the small line of code right into the customize theme page on the web.
This is important. This matters. It’s up to you to help.

Today I want to talk about Kanji Quizzer. My new favorite app!
I downloaded the app about 2 weeks ago and it has been invaluable to me ever since. The app is fairly straightforward. It separates flashcards into groups : Hiragana, Katakana, N5, N4, N3, N2, and N1.
When you select a group it takes you to a screen that displays a flashcard with one kanji character on it. Below there are 6 options for you to guess what the answer is.
Once you choose an answer the card will flip over to reveal whether you were right (highlighted in green) or wrong (highlighted in red). It will also give you both the on and kun readings for the kanji.
I love this app, it’s really helped me out, and it’s great for studying on the go. The kanji is displayed in a large enough size that it’s very easy to read. All in all, this is one of the most valuable Japanese learning apps I’ve ever had.
*I have not been paid to write this review. Everything stated above is a matter of my own opinion*
@ishida-kun121 Recently asked where I got my practice drill sheets for katakana. Initially I had planned just to reply to them, but I realised that all of my followers might not know about the drill sheets I use, or in fact have any. As someone who wants to learn to write Japanese as well, it’s important to me that I practice kana and kanji writing. So, here’s three drill sheets that I use from time to time. These sheets aren’t perfect, and there are others that may suit you better.
As one final note: Even though I myself struggle not to criticise myself too harshly, PLEASE remember that your hand writing doesn’t have to be as perfect as what’s on these sheets. If you’ve ever seen a native Japanese persons handwriting (and I have) you’d know that handwriting is the same in every language: different for everyone. Everyone has their own unique way of writing a kana, it’s always going to look a little different. However, as long as the general shape and stroke order is the same, it’ll be readable. Don’t worry about trying to achieve the robotic perfection that’s on these sheets.
