“Must you always do that?” demanded Wylan.

“Do what, sweetheart?” Jesper put his elbows on the table and leant forward to rest his chin in his hands, schooling his features into a look of angelic innocence.

“That. Calling me all those…” Wylan waved his arms about as he searched for the right word, “All those… pet names.” Wylan was avoiding eye contact, head turned to make it look like he was watching the other patrons. His cute blush was back, not as deep as before, but the pretty pink spread to the tips of his ears.

“‘Cause you’re adorable, merchling,” Wylan’s eyes snapped back to meet his, the scowl deepening and Jesper couldn’t help but grin. He loved getting a rise out of Wylan.
