“Soooo, you’re tellin’ me that this entire person ya play on TV is legit? Cause goddamn you’re a mess.” He chuckle a bit, teasing. “One hell of'an attractive mess- but yeah.” Jon didn’t need to be told to pop open a bottle, reaching for his favorite; Jack Daniels. He kicked off boots and his t-shirt, making himself at home since the night was young. “Wanna talk ‘bout the spiral? Don’t blame ya if ya don’t. Just want ya to know I don’t mind listenin’ is all.” His blues met Stephens with a small side grin which made a dimple show. Once two of the plastic hotel cups are grabbed, two good sized whiskeys are poured. “A'right. A toast to…” Silence takes over as he thinks with his cup in the air; “Hell, the single life.”
He had tried to appear full of light, but the moment Jon offered to hear about his life spiraling out of control it was like everything went dull. Which he instantly shook off. “Dude, it seems every time I see you now we’re talking about my screwed up life.” He forced a chuckle. Truth be told he was an occasional drinker, but thanks to everything happening in his life he was doing it more and more. “But nah, I don’t want to talk about it, hell I don’t even want to think about it anymore...at least for the night.” He reached for one of the cups from Jon, bringing it up after hearing the other man’s toast. “To the single life.” He replied before taking a long sip. “Can I ask you something?” He waited for Jon reply. “How do you and Renee manage to be cool after everything that happened?”

“Yeah, didn’t mean to fall off the map with ya after the birthday visit- shits just got crazy. Ya know all ‘bout that.” Jon flopped down beside the other man and placed hands behind his head to get comfy. His best friend didn’t look alright just by looking at him, those eyes told every story Colby didn’t want to tell. “How’s Becks? Gettin’ big, huh? Damn, still can’t believe you’re gon’ be a dad.” A shake of head and tiny grin- followed by a soft sigh; “Hell is right. These shows having to go back 'n forth to Florida. Glad we taped a few for the next couple weeks.” Pale blues caught that half grin on the Iowans attractive face and he didn’t want to look away. “Been enjoying that Messiah persona of yours. You’re definitely the perfect one to play it.” Colby was, since he’s breathtaking on the mic and so beautiful that he could draw anybody in.
“Becks is good. She’s been driving me up the fucking wall with all her weird food cravings.” He shook his head. “The other night she had me go to McDonald's for ice cream. I had to drive to three because all the machines were supposedly down.” He made air quotations as he said the word ‘down’. There was part of him that still couldn’t believe he was going to be a dad. It was something he wanted for a while now, but as far as his relationship with Becky went he was starting to see more and more that maybe they just weren’t meant to be. And he knew that was mostly because of the hidden feelings he had for Jon. “Thanks, I didn’t think you still watched the show.” A pause made. “Have you talked to Joe lately?” He didn’t see any reason why to dive into his true feelings just yet. Why not play catch up?

“No.. I’m fine just feeling a little tired” she told him lying. She felt fine physically, but emotionally she felt like she wanted to just break down in tears. She flashbacks she’d pushed away for so long were flooding her memory and she just wanted it to go away. This was supposed to be the happiest time of her life but between the pandemic and now these unresolved feelings of shame she just wanted to hide. Once they were back in the house she just wanted to lay down and run away from her feelings “I’m just gonna go lay down, don’t worry about me. I’m just tired” she told Colby, trying to make herself believe it. She then went to their bedroom to lay down and before she knew it the tears were flowing down her cheeks. She had texts from a few friends that knew about what had happened and were checking in on her and she told them she was okay but the truth was she wasn’t. She was ashamed by her past, and even worse she felt shame for not telling her person, her husband. She was afraid that he’d think of her differently and didn’t know how to tell him so instead it became this dirty secret.
Over the course of their relationship came to notice certain traits in his wife. But more importantly he knew when she wasn’t being honest with him. He could tell when she was upset, overthinking things, or even just mad in general, so of course this time was no different. Before he made his way up to their bedroom, he gave Kevin some water as well as refilled his food bowl. Once he was finished he made his way up to their bedroom. “Babe, I know something is bothering you.” He said as he quietly made his way over to the side of the bed. “We don’t have to talk about it now, but if you want to just know I’m here for you. I’ll always be here for you.” He said before leaning in to plant a single loving peck against her forehead.

The dogs didn’t budge from the bed since eating their breakfast and he didn’t blame them. No telling who it could be at this time of the morning. Possibly a package arriving? Hell, not remembering ordering anything he slipped on some sweatpants just in case and headed downstairs. Jon opened up to see the slightly younger man- heart jumping in his chest. Was this a dream? Having fallen asleep while daydreaming about his best friend? A clearing of throat occurring before he’s able to say anything at all. “Hey. Yeah, nah, come on in.” The Ohio native closing the door behind then turning to let pale blues take in the posture of Colby. Knowing right away something wasn’t right with the stud. “I’ve been pretty good, considering..” He shrugged. Referring to how the world is going now. “What ‘bout you? Everything a'right?”
“Yeah, I’m good.” He knew it had been all over social media how he was stoked to be having a child with Becky. And as true as that might have been, he wasn’t too thrilled to still be in a relationship with her. He made his way over to the couch, helping himself to a seat. “I thought I would pay you a visit since we hadn’t seen each other in a while.” He forced a half-grin to appear as he studied the Ohio native. “No offense, man but you look like hell.” He teased. “Maybe I should be asking you if everything is alright?”

The door opened and there that thick Virginian stood in one of the most Western attire he’s seen in real life- outside of the movies. Whiskey bottle in one hand and a six pack of cold bottled beers in the other. Jon grinning back whenever the younger man sent one in his direction; “I guess I did.” He slipped inside to settle the drinks on the table, turning to take Stephen back in. “M'good. Can’t complain, shit, just needed to see ya.” His hands slipping in jean pockets slightly anxious. “What ‘bout ya? Haven’t heard from ya.. didn’t know if I should say anything or whatever.”
After the night Stephen spent with Jon, he was still dealing with drama dealing with his ex. It seemed they were fighting left and right over everything. The house they once shared together, not to mention their dogs. He couldn’t remember the last time he seen them because she refused to allow him to see them. It was all just one big mess. “Yeah, man. My life’s been one spiral downfall.” He sighed heavily. It seemed every time they talked his mood was straight hell, but he wasn’t going to allow that to continue to happen. “I meant to hit you up sooner.” He could feel a lump forming in throat as the night they shared popped into his head. It was the most fun he had in a long time “Anyways have a seat, let’s pop open that whiskey.”

And suddenly, acting normal became such a difficult task now that she was in his presence. He probably wouldn’t be smiling for long once she opened her mouth and started speaking. Rebecca entered the room with her hands sunk in the pockets of her jacket. “Thanks for comin’,” the Irish woman said as she took a seat down in the chair that was in the hotel room. Her legs felt weak and she feared that she might do something stupid that might cause her to lose her balance. “There’s uh… somethin’ that we need t’ talk about.” Rebecca looked up at him - the fakest smile you’ve ever seen forcing itself onto her features. “I… don’t know how t’ tell ya this… but…” and her fingers wrapped around an object that she had in her pocket. “Fuck. I don’t wanna kill the mood but… I’m gonna be… vacatin’ my RAW Woman’s Championship tonight… and ‘m not injured or anythin’ but Joe. We fucked up.”
From the moment Rebecca entered the room, there was something off about the vibe in the room. Everything seemed more tense, and he had no idea why. Was it possible that she came clean and told Colby about their relationship? No, that couldn’t have been, otherwise his best friend would have been blowing his phone up calling him every name in the book. “Oh no.” He folded his arms against his chest. “I don’t like the sound of that.” He said as he began to study her face, becoming more uneasy with every passing moment. When she mentioned that they had fucked up, he could feel his heart began to race slightly, but somehow he managed to keep his composure. “Fucked up? What do you mean we fucked up? Is this about Colbs?”

In the past he hadn’t exactly been there for Tenille much, and it seemed the moment she left the WWE, what little conversation they had before went right out the window. However that didn’t mean he didn’t care, he hoped she would find much success because in his eyes he couldn’t think of a more deserving person.·“You’re right. Actions speak louder, and you have my word from this point on you know damn sure I’m on your side.” He made sure to maintain eye contact as he spoke each word to her.·
