Tenille Dashwood

Tenille’s breathing was heavy as the nurses and doctor moved around her prepping her for the c-section. She then looked up as she heard a familiar voice and saw the one person she wanted to see, her husband. She was still nervous as hell, but having him with her took a slight amount of stress of her shoulders, even if all he was doing was supporting her. She nodded and squeezed his hand back as he told her everything would be fine, even if she didn’t totally believe it. Before she knew it they told her they were ready to start as they put up a sheet in between the doctor and herself so she couldn’t see what they were doing. She could feel them doing something, but there was no pain and before she knew it she heard the doctor saying “Alright here comes baby” The doctor said before Tenille felt a pull and then a baby cry which instantly made her tear up hearing her baby for the first time. “It’s a girl” The doctor told Colby and Tenille as he held her up a moment so Tenille could see her “Dad do you wanna cut the cord” The doctor asked Colby in regards to the umbilical cord.

The pain stopped Tenille from responding and brought one of the nurses in to take care of her through the contraction, but while this was going on the doctor came out to talk to Colby. “Mr. Lopez” The doctor said to get Colby’s attention. “I know you’re probably anxious to go back to your wife, but before I let you come back to see her, I do need to fill you in on what’s going on. Your wife is going to need an emergency c-section. The baby is currently breech and not facing the right way for her to give birth vaginally. Right now there’s a lot of stress being put on her body trying to give birth and the baby is starting to show signs of distress so if we don’t get this baby out soon there could be major complications.” The doctor explained to Colby and also telling they were going to take him back to get some scrubs for him to join Tenille in the delivery room. Once the doctor was finished with Colby they started prepping Tenille for the c-section. Tenille started freaking out the moment they mentioned danger and c-section and all she wanted was her husband as she was being prepped in the delivery room.

She wanted to believe her husband, but in the moment she was scared. This was pain she’d never experienced before and while she knew she would be okay part of her felt like she was being ripped in half. Once he brought her inside a nurse, she assumed Colby had talked to, met them and told the two that they were going to bring her up to get her ready and they would come and get Colby once they had her prepped. The nurse then wheeled her back to labor and delivery and got her settled in the room. Being in the room was a complete blur as they got her dressed and started running some tests. She noticed some concerned looks on the nurses face while this was all going on which made her worry even more. She wanted to know what was wrong and where her husband was. “Where’s my-” She started to say before another contraction swept over her causing her to scream in pain. 

Once they arrived at the hospital Tenille’s nerves only got worse. She just wanted Colby to come back already so that at least he’d be able to calm her down. The moment he came back into view with the wheel chair she nodded as he offered to help her. She sat down in the wheel chair and turned slightly towards him “It’s okay right nooo… OOOOW”. She said before another contraction swept over her causing her to wince and scream slightly in pain. She tried to take some deep breaths to calm herself down until the contraction finished. One minute later the contraction was done and she could breathe again. “Well I’m definitely in labor” She said trying to make a joke to lighten the mood despite how scared she was.  

Tenille wanted to respond, but the pain of the contraction wouldn’t let her. She just nodded as he said he was going to take her to the hospital and went with him to the car. Once she was in the car the pain subsided once again giving her a chance to speak. “I think my water broke before” She finally told him now that she could. Saying out loud brought a sense of fear over her that this baby was more than likely coming and she wasn’t sure if she was ready. She thought they had more time and she thought of all the things they still needed to do like finish the nursery and getting the car seat together. However those things didn’t matter as the baby was coming whether they were ready or not. The ride to the hospital was short, but it felt like forever as anxiety raced through her veins and another contraction hit her. 

The pain had slowly subsided as Colby asked if she was okay, and at that point she was. She told her self maybe a break wouldn’t be a bad thing and maybe she’s just pushed herself too much with the photoshoot. “I’m fine, just maybe needed a break” She told him as she went to sit down. “Some water does sound good though” She replied when he offered to get her some water. A few minutes went by as she waited for him to bring it back and as she was waiting she felt a strange sensation in her abdomen and then felt liquid streaming down her leg which made her panic because either she’d just peed herself, or her water just broke. “BABE” She yelled out getting up from her seat to look for her husband. As she got up though a contraction came over her that made her top dead in her tracks and grab her stomach in pain. 

Despite being heavily pregnant Tenille was enjoying every moment of the holiday photo shoot with her husband. She knew he wasn’t a huge fan of stuff like this so it made her happy that he went along with it. “I’m still stuck on the fact that we’re having a baby” she told him softly back as her kissed her. Once the photographer started taking pictures again she smiled wide taking in the moment. Between photos however she’d been feeling some contractions, which she’d assumed were Braxton Hicks, but as she went to smile for the next picture a sharp pain shot through her stomach stronger than the contractions she’d been feeling before. As she felt the pain she leaned more into Colby trying to pretend like she was fine. In her mind she told herself she couldn’t be in labor because it was too early, she was only 37 weeks, and she didn’t want to worry her husband over nothing.

“Try actually having the mood swings, I can’t keep up with myself because I feel like I’m on a roller coaster and I want off cause I’m exhausted” she told him with a slight laugh. While she hated the mood swings she knew it was because of her hormones of being so pregnant and that once their little peanut arrived they’d hopefully become better. “I love you too and thank you for putting up with me” she told with a soft giggle. There was something she couldn’t shake though and that was his relationship with his ex. They’d never talked about it before because she trusted Colby and she wanted to leave his past in the past but with her outburst before she felt like she owed it to him to speak her mind “okay so now that crazy T is gone there is something I wanted to ask you about and I don’t want it to be a fight but I... I need to ask you about your relationship with Leighla. We’ve never talked about what happened or what your relationship is like now. And no I don’t think you’re going to run off with her or do anything with her. I just want to understand your relationship with her now...” she said looking to him hoping he wouldn’t get mad for her bringing up Leighla again.

Tenille didn’t realize how crazy she sounded until she saw the look on Colbys face and realized how insane she sounded. She knew that Colby would never do the things she was saying and now she was feeling embarrassed and guilty for even accusing him of it. “I think you might now because your wife is going insane.” Tenille told him awkwardly laughing in embarrassment “I don’t know why you stay with me. Its bad enough I look like a backwards camel, but now I’m turning into a moody insane mess. I don’t deserve you, but if it still means anything I really really love you” she told him before feeling a big kick in her belly that made her make a slight face “and so does our little one”

“Nothing happened. That’s exactly what someone would say if something did happen and they didn’t want their wife to know” she told him rolling her eyes. She had no reason not to trust him since he’d always been faithful to her but something about him spending time with his ex just made her paranoid. “And no I don’t think I’m blowing this out of proportion. You never spend more than five minutes with her and now all of a sudden she has to have coffee with you? What the hell could she possible have to talk to you about? For all I know you two are plotting some scheme to wait until the baby is born and take it and run away together” Tenille said going from anger to now tears rolling down her cheeks as she became upset at the thought. “Kevin tell your dad he can’t leave us like that, I know I don’t look like I used too but He can’t leave” She said sniffling tears as she looked down at the small dog as the dog leaned against her while she rubbed her almost 8 month baby bump.
