The way Stolas caught Stella’s wrist and the surprised look on her face are clear indicators that she has hit Stolas before, but this seems to be swept under the rug by Stella fans. And to be clear, I think it’s fine to feel sympathy over the fact that she was forced into this marriage, however, that still doesn’t excuse her domestic violence towards Stolas. I also don’t think that Stolas cheating on Stella makes her less guilty because cheating in real life is often caused by people wanting an escape from their abusive partners. Again, it’s okay to be sympathetic towards her or if you like her as a character, it just annoys me when people pretend that she isn’t abusive when she clearly is.
