So about my ROTTMNT GTA AU — I didn’t completely rewrite their personalities, but I definitely pushed them into a grittier direction to match the vibe.
Raph is still very much Raph at his core — protective, emotional, and caring in his own way — but here he’s basically a magnet for fights. He’s covered in tattoos because that’s just how I picture him in this setting, and his bandages are always dirty from all the constant brawling. He’s not the type to care much about keeping clean or presentable, so he ends up looking pretty rough most of the time. The “healthy masculinity” is still there, just buried under a lot more aggression and chaos.
Under all that, though, he still carries a heavy sense of responsibility for his brothers — it just comes out in a much harsher way. He tends to take control, snap easily, and throw himself into danger first so no one else has to. He can come off as intimidating or even a bit out of control, but he’s really the one holding them together, even if it’s slowly wearing him down. He’s also the type to bottle everything up rather than admit when he’s struggling.
Leo leans more into a composed, calculated persona. He wears a clean, stylish suit inspired by Michael De Santa’s look, kind of echoing his original outfit but in a more grounded, realistic way. He’s got a blind eye and a scar across his face from a past fight, which adds to that controlled but dangerous energy. He comes off more put-together than the others, but there’s definitely something off underneath.
He’s very good at playing the role of “the normal one” when it benefits him, but in reality he’s far more manipulative and guarded than he lets on. He doesn’t hide his scar or his blind eye — if anything, he uses them as part of his image. Leo prefers strategy, words, and deals over brute force, but when things get messy, he can be just as dangerous as Raph — just quieter and far more precise about it.
I didn’t change Donnie all that much personality-wise, since he already fits the AU pretty well. I mostly adjusted his aesthetic — dressed him in black to match the overall tone, and honestly, it suits him really well. He still has that sharp, analytical edge, just with a darker presentation.
In this AU, his intelligence feels even more “dangerous” — he’s not just the smartest one, he’s the one who can think several steps ahead and actually use that to his advantage. Sometimes he comes off as the calmest out of all of them, but in reality, he’s the one most capable of making cold, pragmatic decisions when needed.
And Mikey — I leaned into a more chaotic, troublemaking vibe for him. He’s that restless, unpredictable kid who’s always getting into something, the kind of person who never seems to stay out of trouble for long. Still energetic and expressive, but with a sense that he grew up in a much rougher environment, if you get what I mean.
But he’s not just chaos for the sake of it — he’s got real street smarts and emotional depth. He reads people and situations better than anyone, even if he pretends not to care. A lot of tension hides behind his jokes and carefree attitude, and he can switch up and get serious really fast when it actually matters
