Art Exam : Inside & Outside Worlds

🇬🇧For my art exam, I created a piece about the inner and outer worlds, inspired by Louise Bourgeois (Maman) and Julie Mehretu. The sun evokes Camus' The Stranger, while the one-eyed angels, the spider, and the sun are reminiscent of Orwell's 1984. The Art Deco buildings (Empire State Building, Chrysler Building) symbolize urban majesty and oppression. I chose them because New York made me feel confused and oppressed. Also inspired by weirdcore and dreamcore, my work explores the impact of external spaces on the inner world and the violence of oppressive systems.

🇬🇧This artwork was made for a school project about biomorphism. It is inspired by Internet æsthetics as weirdcore as liminal spaces, but also absurdism (Albert Camus Philosophy) and surrealism. This artwork represents the illusion that theres a meaning to our life when there is none in reality. Making this artwork allowed me to work on perspective.

🇬🇧In digital art class, we had to make a work of a photomontage with a map inspired by Michael Tompsetts' works. I used a map of the city Tokyo an a view of Tokyo Tower. Making this work allowed me to modify colors of a picture to create a filter.

🇬🇧 Those photographs were made in digital art classes inspired by the series Urban Melodies by the Italian photographer Alessio Treretoli. For the left picture, I took a picture of Japan in internet and I made different copies of this image then I assembled. For the right picture I used a photograph I took during a trip in Japan and I made different copies of the same omage and I created a filter for each image.

🇬🇧 Those sketches of ancient greek temples in the Valley of Temples and the Palermo Cathedral based on Picuted I took during my trip in Sicily. I then made an artwork on Procreate based on one of the sketches. These sketches are intended to study and analyse ancient greek architecture and sicilain architecture.

🇬🇧 For this school project I made sketches of famous memes to study complex facial expressions to finally choose one and make it for the final rendering. I choose to make a character Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and his facial expression for the final rendering, because of the complex facial expressions and designs of these characters. I deliberately chose to render the final version in black and white to accentuate the sad emotions of my work.

🇬🇧My work, The Evanescence of the Water Nymph, was created as part of a school project in partnership with the What Water association, which works to promote access to water in Cameroon and other African countries. My artwork was notably displayed in an exhibition organised by the school and by the organization. This scene depicts water (Personified by a nymph) becomming rarer and slowly disappearing due to drought in Africa. For my participation to this project, I recieved a civic passport.
