“ Can I help you?”

“Ella!” Sirius exclaims, delightedly, when he sees her peeking around the corner. He’d been in the middle of a very boring book, something to keep his mind off the fact that he was lonely in this old, dusty house, with only his mother’s shrieking and Kreacher’s snide remarks for company.

Inviting the Order into the home was the best thing he’d done since getting out of Azkaban. 

“Are you about to suggest I change into Padfoot and we escape the house as a girl and her giant, black dog?” He asks, with a wink. “Because I’d say yes.”

“ That’s what I’m suggesting!” Ella chirped as she pulled out a large pink collar and leash. “ See, it’s pink, no one will suspect you because you’ll be a girl dog!”

It was a full proof plan. No one from the ministry would think twice about an elf girl walking her dog. She was so excited to get Sirius out of the house, that she planned out exactly what they’ll do. 

“ There’s a park close to here we can go walking through with a heavily wooded area! The trails back there are nice and no one goes into it because the muggles think it’s haunted.”

“Yes,” Pansy replied, her tone lazy and condescending as she made herself comfortable on the swing seat. “You being so eager for this, made me realize how much I wanted to swing.”

Pansy had, in fact, watched the Gryffindor race toward the swing set. It irritated her to no end that she seemed far less burdened than Pansy would ever be. So, she decided to steal a little bit of that freedom from Ella, by placing herself squarely in front of the path she’d decide on for the day.

“ Well move, I want to swing on it.” She demanded with a huff to her tone and stomped her foot in the grass. “ You don’t even like swinging, Pansy, you’re just doing it to be mean!” her tone was accusatory but not unjustified.  She had witnessed several times the brutality of Pansy Parkinson. 

Ginny, sweaty and exalted from practice, another successful one, she may add – smiled when she noticed Ella from across the way. 

“Hey there,” she smiled, her one hand lingering on her hip and the other holding her broom which rested on her shoulder.  “How are you? Enjoy the show?” she couldn’t help being a bit cocky – that practice had gone even better than she had hoped! 

“I think so too – Hufflepuff won’t know what hit ‘em! What are you up to now? I’m starving!”

“ I did! You’re flying is so graceful, it’s like you’re doing ballet!” she said before twirling around and making flying gestures with her hands. “ Swoosh!” she smiled at Ginny then. 

“ Well, I was about to go grab some breakfast in the dining hall, care to join me?” she asked, the elf wiggling her ears happily. She looked human in all respects except for her ears, which were pointed and cute. 

“ Good morning, Professor!” Ella greeted as she hopped along the brick wall which laden the walkway to the courtyard. She was nimble as she seemed to dance along it. 

“You’re up early, Professor Lupin. Couldn’t sleep?” she asked. The elf smiled, though she was small in stature, she made up for it by being as pleasant as she could, after all, there was no reason to be mean. 

Ella had been racing down the grassy hills of the Hogwarts grounds. Her shoes were left discard near the entrance of the school while she enjoyed the tickling feeling of the grass under her bare feet. She hummed along as she ran towards the lake. 

If she ran fast enough, she would be the first one on it. The sixth year girl slid to a stop upon seeing another taking the swing. 

“ Hey!” she called as she jogged over, panting. “ You saw me running towards it!”
