The Dragon of Darkness' Gift
This changed when the dragon of darkness decided to intervene. She wanted to have some fun. They lacked complex fears. And so, she granted them the gift of self-awareness. And with this, the mythic age came to an end.

Nature of the Proto-Elves
These proto-elves held a number of their original forms features, horns, patches of fur, antennae, and so on. These then spread out, being guided by the ents, nesting together for warmth at night. These first generations spread fairly far and wide, but heading south was limited by the mercurial desert, but moving north was feasible. The main difficulty to doing this, and why only a few stubborn ents and their retinues of proto-elves went that way, was because there was a significant amount of demons still there, especially along the costs.
Those that stayed close were also then guided into creating more new elves. After all, even if they reproduced their children took years to grow, while new proto-elves could be brought into instruction right away. The area right around the well had a large number of these second generation of elves, created this time from creatures the proto-elves liked. These were instinctual likes, for the proto-elves were little smarter than their constituent creatures but more confident, naturally following the commands of the Ents.
Spawning of the Proto-Elves
To this end they were instructed to go to the well of life, where they could place wild animals in and spawn suitable creatures. These are the proto elves, and the first creatures placed in were the creatures that the Ents and their dryads could easily grab. The very smallest and the largest, insects and deer alike. These creatures, when placed into the pool, after emerging were most suitable for the needs of the Ents. Similar to the practical design of the dryads, but at the same time more bound to the needs and limits of flesh. Ultimately though they were capable of learning skills and listening to the instructions of the ents.
Elementals
With the Concord made, the Dragons drew back from the world, leaving curators, greater elementals to mend the damage they had inflicted upon the world. These are, as you should well know, everything from the ents, to behemoths to rocs and krakens. All manner of entities. These in turn bud off the lesser elementals known as nymphs, sprites, wisps and any number of other beings, depending on the task required.
However, they were finite and their number didn’t grow. Even the budding off of lesser elementals reduced the greater. Though this was suitable for most tasks, the ents were the first to realise that the wastelands could damage surrounding life and maybe even spread. They realised they had need for more numerous numbers. And so, they asked how to make more servants. One that could serve as nymphs but not limited by the finite number of the elementals, for the wastes were hard to tame.
Concord of Blood
In time they stopped their fighting, or at least they decided that the fighting should stop, and began to. The last to continue to fight was the Dragon of fire. Unable to cease, they were bound beneath the world by the dragons of earth and water.
The other dragons agreed that they need to rectify the damage they did to the world. To this end they formed the concord of blood. To sanctify it they prepared pools of their own blood in favoured location on the world, and finally the well of life, where they willingly bled in front of one another. The dragon of fire wasn’t willing, but fortunately the demons made entirely of its blood were spread across the world and they were drained into the pool.

Origins of Mythic Creatures
Where the dragons struck one another, they bled. Where they bled, and oh how they bled, in those places where there remained flora and fauna, the beings were transformed according to the dragon’s blood that fell. Gryphons, unicorns, Ebon Spiders and more were brought forth from these wounds.
But the most notable mythic beasts formed were the demons, grown wholecloth from the blood of the fire dragon. Living embodiments of the hungering fire, they had no other instincts to constrain themselves.
Mythic History
There once was a time before we could think. This we know from speaking to the elementals. The Custodians of the world who in turn created us, little ones. They do not speak for us, or with us. They merely speak at us, by their deign. Though their apparitions the nymphs are more similar to us, they are by no means more natural storytellers.
Still, we have pieced together some things from those more convivial.
And we know that, at some point, the dragon gods were on the world, and then they fought. Oh how they fought. They scoured the world, their power unleashed such raw energy that they annihilated vast swathes of the landscape, transforming it into wasteland.
Forewarning
Everything here is subject to change, this is ultimately just my first passage of summarising things I have written.
Hi!
This will be the blog where I will slowly add the fluff from the world I am building. If you spot it, and want to interact, feel free to send asks!
But there's nothing here yet so I'm not sure what you're gonna ask about. Maybe something in the description?
