“Oh, that’s a great idea! I need to post more pictures while I’m in America, anyway.” She paused, humming in thought. “Although, I haven’t ordered yet. What do you think? If it was your first time here, what would you want the most?”

“Oh.” She blinked, still certain that she did not understand. What kind of things did this other person expect to happen? And why put a teenager to work to stop them? Well, there was no point in worrying since nothing happened, so she gave the other a big smile. “That’s good! Did you keep an eye out for us today? Thank you so much!”

Sing blushed a little at the sudden, dazzling smile she flashed at him. “I– yeah, I did. I didn’t do much of anything since it was so normal, though.” 

The sound of the door opening hadn’t immediately caught her attention, but hearing the words “Filming is over, detective” brought her gaze up from the menu. Filming? As far as she knew, the only filming happening nearby was her movie. That was peculiar though, since she hadn’t heard of any cause for concern nor would she expect it to be the sort of thing a young boy like this would worry about. Perhaps she shouldn’t interrupt while he was on the phone, but he was already awkwardly staring.

“Was there…some kind of trouble around the filming today?”

“Charlie, I uh, gotta call you back later. Or see you at dinner. Yeah, bye.” Sing excused himself quickly, averting his eyes as he hung up. Well, this was a mistake. Who would have guessed the pretty actress would have picked his family’s restaurant to eat right after filming…

The end of filming for the day meant one thing: It was time for Kiku to make up for all that energy she’d spent with a big dinner. At home, she’d have her favorite places to choose from, but this movie had brought her all the way to New York, offering plenty of new choices. There was a small place not far from where they were filming, and since it caught her eye, she entered the restaurant and took a seat, looking over the menu.

Sing had been hanging about the area, on the request of a certain ginger, to make sure that the filming was uninterrupted and that no nonsense occurred around them. It was to protect the image of New York and the safety of people investing in the area. It was whatever. Sing was mostly just glad that it was over so he didn’t have to stand around in the annoying crowd anymore. 

He headed back home, walking into the front restaurant door with his phone pressed against his ear. “Filming is over, detective. Nothing happened, I don’t think any kids would have wanted to start shit there, anyway.” Sing said tiredly.
