This is a gift for @chrycorner for @fmasecretsanta 2022! You wanted to see some Envy content and I did what I could to provide. Happy holidays and I hope you enjoy! It did turn out a little angstyish, so I hope that's up your alley.

Envy ‘awoke’ (they didn’t really need sleep, after all, it was just a way to waste time) to another cold, dark room alone. As of now, to their knowledge, they were the only one who existed like.. This, as something between human and monster. They supposed that was the sprout of their.. envy, their malicious jealousness. Looking upon those living normal lives, so entwined with their families. It made him want to puke, in all honesty, and that was truly no mistake. 

His father, that.. Pathetic, disgusting man, should have just left him alone, let him die and be done with it. Now he was some marvel of scientific discovery, some forbidden thing to sweep under the rug as he grew two new sons, better than him, of course, always better than them.

Envy soon shifted into the form they usually took, prowling along the rooftops and doing what they always had done. Watch everyone else, growling internally, wishing that he could join them. It was winter, of course, so that meant it was festive, and everyone was focused on family. Blegh. He shook his head, finding someone young and alone to snatch up and become. 

This was the routine. Ruin the lives of others, so he could have what could be called.. Happiness, just for a moment. And, right on cue, it seemed like someone was calling for ‘him’. Heeding the call, Envy was soon dragged into a warm family home, full of people he did not recognize that still regarded him warmly. He assumed he had taken the form of some son.. 

He was soon released from the ceaseless onslaught of hugs and well wishes to sit in the corner on their sofa, watching as they conversed with one another. For some reason, he felt a little different here.. It was frightening, in a way.

Though, it also.. Felt safe, too. How.. disgusting.

He wanted more.
