now that the Overview’s out of the way, here’s Lindy’s House 2: Tastey Specifics editon!!!!!

( i’m gna try and do these in the order of each room, as though you were coming in from outside! )

lindy’s house is.....pretty much what you’d expect from someone like her imo. the building itself was built in about 1918-19ish, and it’s pretty much your standard-issue eclectically-decorated-but-Stylish and Cosy-but-Vibrant humanities academic pad. ie if you went there and visited while lindy wasn’t home without knowing anything about her, you’d probably be able to suss out 'bon vivant philologist with a wicked bad sweet tooth’ pretty easily.

i forgot to put this in the other post, but i don’t think lindy owns anything that Exactly Matches. she has stuff that complements or Attractive Opposites re colour and style, but very few Matching Sets.

her front door opens to a tiny landing and then Immediately there’s the little staircase to the bedrooms and bathrooms directly ahead of you, and to your right you’d see the kitchen and dining room. the Famed cosy living room is directly ahead and to your left.

because it’s the biggest room in the house, here’s its own Living Room Sub-Bullet:

three windows in the living room-- one bay window and two smaller ones on each wall i think.

excluding smaller furniture that Happens To Have Shelves on, there’s AT LEAST four bookshelves, two big and two smaller.

there’s a Great Big Fancy Dictionary on a stand next to the biggest bookshelf, and there’s a Great Big Fancy Globe, made of semiprecious stones on an old-fashioned stand as well. probably on the other end of the same bookshelf w the dictionary. 

there’s one huge couch and it’s some kind of wacky colour like lime green or orange. there are two or three similarly Eye-Popping armchairs nestled beside and some ottomans, as well as one random kitchen chair next to a bookshelf. 

her Common Area TV is either on the wall or in a repurposed armoire. it’s a middle-of-the-road flat-screen, and it’s probably big and a couple years old but not Super Outdated. i think she’s got cable w movie channels and shite but probably not a Fancy Streaming Service.

there’s also a Vintage record player lindy doesn’t use ( and a few records lindy doesn’t play ) for The Looke. 

her kitchen is also small, but lindy doesn’t seem to be much of a cook so it’s fine. there’s a smaller table with mismatched chairs, a similarly Gently-Used brushed-steel fridge and Okay cupboards i suppose.

 absolutely NO matching dishes or kitchenware. none. not a one.

 there’s also a half-bathroom here and a working dumbwaiter her cat( ? ) likes to hide inside. 

lindy’s dining room is BEAUTIFUL and has a table big enough for a cosy dinner party. it’s antique from the 1910s and has the only table with a matching set of chairs. there’s also a chandelier and glassware cabinet with glasses lindy doesn’t touch.

there’s a little closet inside the staircase and it holds her washer and dryer.

upstairs are the bathrooms, lindy’s room and two guest rooms, and lindy’s ‘’’’home’’’’ ‘’’’office.’’’’ more about lindy’s room and  ‘’’’home’’’’ ‘’’’office’’’’ in another post.

there’s a fire escape that goes down past lindy’s bedroom and the living room. she sits on it to smoke and ~Brood~ and read anne rice Tittie Vampire erotica.

she does have an awesome bluetooth speaker setup she adores, so there’s music playing in her house most of the time. 

uhhhh that’s it i guess?

lindy lives in a townhouse or something adjacent, like one of these. i really feel like its exterior is rusty-red or light brown.

she feels nervous living in big houses, so her #Pad is probably pretty small ; or at least feels smaller than it is. the living room and her bedroom are probably the biggest rooms in the entire house. it’s not cramped, obv, but i know parties and gatherings at her place probably feel Intimate as a result.

i’m sure you saw this coming, but her house is VERY ~Eclectically~ decorated. 

she seems to be very Into antiquing and collecting art and Interesting stuff like brighid and margot, but hers tends to skew towards the Luxurious or Exotique-- and very often both. the artworks of tamara de lempicka ( !!!!!! ), hilma af klint, milena pavlović-barili and louise bourgeois are all De Rigeur in lindy’s Art Collection. 

she’s also really into strange and / or antique advertisements, like these ones. this one every dc hipster is obsessed with is her favourite. 

and unlike brighid, who tends to like Functional Beautiful stuff she could potentially use if she needed to, or margot, who likes Cutesy stuff with 700 bows, lindy’s Antiques collection skews ‘superficial and decorative.’ she tends to like stuff without any Practical Purpose, whether from being outdated, super weird, or too delicate. 

basically the range for all her decor is either ‘Chic And / Or Retro’ or ‘auctioned at christie’s and the str8 people there were too chicken to bid on it’ with some in between.

this is also a given, but her house is focking FULL of books. especially her living room and ‘’’’home’’’’ ‘’’’office.’’’’ there are tons of books EVERYWHERE. 

most of them ancient texts For Obvious reasons, but also LOTS of poetry, probably a good bit of shakespeare and uh. anne rice Tittie Vampire Erotica or some shite. sorry.

i think she jus plain collects Esoteric Lesbian Erotica. like ancient, antique, rare, banned or otherwise One-of-a-Kind lesbian romance books.
