Drawing a world I want to see more of.

This panel took me almost five hours and there are still details that need adding in the pencils. I gotta do digital wireframes of cityscapes and use a light box next time I have something like this. Also, because I lack restraint: the license on the wrecked hybrid there is “RDWNG.”

Some sketches I did that will be available to get at Carmine Street Comics. I may do a series of finished postcard/mini prints based somewhat on these pieces in the future.

So I was reminded that this blog is a thing, which I honestly forgot even though I list it as my website on my business card and I link to it on my twitter...  So have some art from my current big project with Johnny C. My favorite pitch line for it is, “Imagine a journey with young Malcolm Reynolds and slightly-more-badass C3-PO.”

I’m determined to get this done this year. On my back. Permanently.

This is so different from how I normally draw. I was listening to the Mad Max soundtrack as stress relief at work, and the mix of my continuing irritation and Doof Warrior effected my side sketch of the day.  I design. I’m denied. I design again.

Marcus To is too insanely nice. He sketched this in my book after I pestered him most of Saturday and came up to him hungover on Sunday. 

Stephanie Brown Batgirl pencils and post-Photoshop ink from last week. Had this in my portfolio for SCNYC to show during the Creative Connections panel. Met some really amazing artists and writers through that panel, so I’ll be having a lot more to show in terms of collaborations and personal work in the future. Nothing like a good convention and talking to awesome creators to get the mind going!
