Throwback to almost seven months ago when we went to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. I miss waiting in airports, riding in planes, getting lost in an unfamiliar locality, brushing off saltwater from my face as the boats traverse waters, taking pictures and realizing that those images will never come close to experiencing the place, among other things I get to do whenever I get to travel.

Okay, here's the thing. I actually started taking classes again last January and I pretty much enjoyed the first couple of weeks. I guess my drive and excitement waned when my workload increased coincidentally when my academic load as a student increased as well. I was juggling 25 units of teaching load (plus House Parent Duties) and 6 units in UPOU. It came to a point wherein I felt like I wasn't giving my best to any of my commitments and that's where I stopped, re-evaluated what's happening and finally decided to stop taking classes and just focus on work. It was hard, especially on my conscience, because I've spent sleepless nights working on my requirements; add to that the money I've spent on tuition. I was a wee bit disappointed with myself but I know I learned something from this ordeal. Fortunately, I've found a two-week program over the summer which will help me attain the 30-unit requirement for the LET. It's going to be a bit more expensive that my original plan but at least it's not going to have an effect on my work schedule since the entire program will take place during my summer vacation. Maybe less leisure time but only for this summer! I just want to have my license already and be a full-pledged educator :)

I believe 2014 is my best year so far. I've experienced a lot of challenging opportunities, not only in my personal life, but also with my career and professional life. I can't help but feel extremely blessed with all that's happened the past months; heck, even the most extremely hard (for me, at least) times gave me important lessons and realizations. I'm definitely excited for the coming year because I know I'm ready to take a lot more shots on every opportunity that'll be coming my way. 

As always, my only resolution for this year is to always be the better version of myself.

I was in the middle of a song-writing session yesterday and I think I was actually doing pretty good up until I fell asleep. I woke up with no trace of creativity and I am once again in a writing rut. I'm forcing myself to write even the most random of things in hopes of triggering my "ability" to write back on again. 

Pardon this poor excuse of an update. Ha ha! This happened last July but because there's so much going on, it's only just now that I'm posting about my trip to Legazpi, Albay! I got invited to attend Ate Chie and Kuya Alvin's wedding and I had a blast!

I used an app to make the pictures more appealing and because I'm too lazy to do a proper write-up.

Got the chance to finally attend a Soundcloud Philippines event last June 28! I've been a member of the Official Soundcloud Philippines for over six months now but it was only last week that I got to bond with the other members. Not only did I get to meet some of the amazingly talented musicians, but I also got to perform! I opened up the show with DLSU - IS student Popoy Dela Cruz who's also a member of the group. What a way to represent DLSU! Ha ha! 

Popoy and I had three songs each and I'm including a video of the song we did together during the gig. Check out our more mellow version of Ed Sheeran's "All Of The Stars" :)

So excited to attend the next get-together! :)

Long-time no post, eh? Been awfully busy with work and what-nots these past couple of weeks. I'm so blessed because even though I'm swamped with work, I still get to do what I love most. Thank You, Lord, for the gift of music and for giving me an employer who supports and allows me to use my talents and skills. Ha ha!

Here's a video of me singing with Popoy and Cian during De La Salle University - Integrated School's Acquaintance Party 2014 called Flashback Friday or #FBF2014. Popoy and Cian are both from Grade 11 and man, they're a really good duo! So blessed to have been able to share the stage with them.

I was waiting for a couple of my co-teachers in the music room about a week ago when I started playing "Skinny Love" on the piano (by ear). I wanted to do a cover of it right then and there but it was only last night that I was able to do so. Do check out my cover of Bon Iver's "Skinny Love" if y'all have time :)

So, here's my tentative schedule for this year. I prayed for growth and development in my chosen field and the Lord has given me a challenging opportunity for this year. I'm ready to take on it!
