I went to Ho Chi Minh for a weekend with Elbi. She was on a worktrip there so I just tagged along and got to use her company paid hotel stay. I rented a scooter to roam around the city. It was fucking hot outside, but I managed to walk to the motor rental place. My feet has a dark brown tan line around my birks because of this. Driving the scooter was an exhirating experience. This was my first time riding one so it was pretty scary at first, but it was easy once you get the hang of it. Driving on an open road is the best, but when you reach heavy traffic it's just hell. There's no concept of personal space when you travel via 2 wheeled vehicles in Vietnam. We travelled thru heavy traffic for 40 minutes and it felt like torture to me. I was gripping the handle bars so tightly that my hands were cramping after the drive. But it was all worth it for the experience! We got to try legit pho in Ben Thanh Street Food market. It was good but it's not something I'd be craving for. I actually didn't get to try much Vietnamese food on this trip since we didn't get to go around much because Elbi had work. I did, however, get to try a Mexican restaurant called La Fiesta! It was pretty good, they served complimentary nachos with some dip I didn't know. The quesadillas were good as well. It was International Women's day when I arrived. So I had to find flowers to give Elbi since it was customary for guys to give flowers to girls on this day. I ended up going to a very cute flower shop called "30 Bunches, a floral tea story". The place was very nice and I think it was a coffee and flower shop combined. I was glad the manager knows how to speak english so I was able to buy something nice.
