The world was bright and dazzling from the place he stood. It’s lights glowing from afar as choruses of laughter bounced off the walls of the hideout.

Norman stood still on of the top of the staircase, the veranda on his right offering a lonely view of the world he lost.

No, what was

Stolen from him.

The details of his plan swivelled inside his head as 2 sides battled it out in his consciousness. Freedom was his goal, but at what cost?

A familiar suffocating weight dropped in his stomach as panic wheld up inside making him hold onto the wooden pillar tightly for support as his vision dimmed into the darkness.

“Norman?”, A small voice asked, concerned and he felt his spine go rigid, cursing himself for that moment of weakness but as he lifted his eyes off the floor, he felt himself relax slightly.

“Emma” He smiled as he let his guard drop in front of his personal perception of the sun.

Emma shuffled slightly from her spot on the stairs as she she studied him closely, her green eyes caring and steadfast.

“Vincent told me where to find you” Emma mumbled quietly as she joined him in his spot on the veranda, “Pretty quiet here, don’t you think?” She observed as she stared at the glimmering lights in front of her.

“It lets me think” He offered shyly which made him frown slightly at the way his heartbeat quickened when she gave him attention.

All this power and it only took a glance from her to set his composure ablaze.

A chuckle interrupted his thoughts as she leaned further into the veranda, “You always liked thinking” she laughed, a bitter smile spread against her lips. “Both you and Ray have that self-sacrificing tendencies that it scares me sometimes–” She stopped and her attention turned back to him; her eyes sharp as concern and unease mixed into one.

“You can rely on me yknow”

A silver of panic grew in his chest and he had physically restrain himself from running away from Emma.

Her words where too close to his doubts

She was standing too close

The anxiety he kept hidden where close to bursting

And he was so close to losing control.

The Emma in front of him is familiar but isn’t. She has the same bright glow as when they were children but her eyes is jaded and wary.

It scares him how willing he is to sell his soul to the devil if it bought him her love.

“You should learn how to think about yourself”

A frigid air breezed past them and Emma shuddered at the cold but Norman said nothing as her words hanged in the air.

Suddenly, Norman leaned into her; his face close as his breath tickled her face yet his eyes never left her lips.

“So you’re saying” he drawled lowly as he bent down, “I can be selfish?”

A burn of guilt ran through him but he couldn’t find it in himself to pull away.

A few seconds passes as the silence weighed heavily in the air. Norman flicked his eyes to meet her own; the confused expression on her face a clear enough rejection that it had him drawing back as of burned.

“Sorry-” The blue eyed teen muttered as he ran a hand through his hair, a false smile plastered on his face as he waved his hand around like a scolded child.

“I was only teasing–”

Without warning, he felt his elbow pulled from underneath him as he found himself bent down against the red head in front of him with something warm and soft puckered against his cheek.

That was the only clear moment where his brain refused to function properly as his head short circuited because before he could react Emma jumped back like a scared bunny; her face burning as bright as her hair.

“Sometimes, it’s alright to be selfish, Idiot!” She yelled out haughtily as she tried to hold on to her composure before failing miserably; her face the same old red and awkward as when they were children.

He would found it incredibly endearing if he wasn’t so worried he’ll have a heart attack any second now.

Emma fidgeted for a couple more seconds as excuses raced around her head, she stilled for a bit before she flashed him another one of her blinding smiles before proceeding to race down the stairs like her life depended on it, clearly still mortified about what she just did.

“ByeNormanIGottaHelpRayFinishDinner-Sorry” She practically screamed as she disappeared from view, leaving a rather flustered teen in her place.

it’s HIGHLY contagious, as a matter of fact it’s more than two times more contagious than the flu;

its incubation period is 14 days, which means you could be already infected and only start to show symptoms in two weeks which, in turn, means that you have two full weeks time to infect everyone you come in contact with;

we don’t have a vaccine or specific treatment yet;

it is potentially mortal for older people, people with pre-existing conditions, and immunocompromised people BUT it’s also very dangerous for everyone else too–a lot of younger people have died;

it attacks the lungs, which means a lot of patients will need respiratory aid, which means hospitals get full really fast and if there’s a shortage of machineries (which, there is), doctors might even have to choose to save a patient over another;

that 2% fatality rate is not confirmed, it was an initial hypothesis. if you look at the numbers of Italy the percentage is much higher. as of right now the number of infected in Italy is 12462, the number of victims is 827: now i’m no mathematician, but i’m pretty sure that’s more like 6,6%; (while i’m on the subject, you may want to double check how your country is counting victims: a lot of countries are only counting people who died OF coronavirus, while the more accurate way of counting would be to consider those who died WITH coronavirus);

a lot of countries aren’t even testing properly yet, which means the numbers are highly debatable.

we all initially underestimated the situation here in Italy and now look at us. we’re all stuck at home–we can’t leave unless strictly necessary. no school, no uni, no cinema, no theatre, no weddings, no funerals. we’re queuing to enter supermarkets and pharmacies. our hospitals are full and our doctors are exhausted. we’re all doing this not because we’re overly dramatic or something, we’re doing this because it’s the only way to prevent the virus from spreading (as the news from Wuhan show) and therefore to safeguard everyone and keep the hospitals going.  

COVID-19, specifically the new coronavirus responsible for this mass panic, is equally as contagious as influenza, in that it’s transmitted by droplet and fomites, meaning the SAME precautions are required for both [x]

The word you’re looking for is ‘fatal’, not ‘mortal’. 

Influenza is contagious within the first few days of an individual becoming sick, however can be transmittable up to 7-10 days afterwards. This means Influenza can spread faster than COVID-19 [x]

By comparison, this flu season, 136 paediatric patients have died with influenza associated pneumonia in the USA alone [x]. Influenza is far less discriminatory in who it infects and who is susceptible to severe illness, with several. strains targeting young, healthy and otherwise fit individuals in particular. 

Doctors never choose to save one life over another. If they do, they should not be a doctor, and you have a lawsuit on your hands. If a hospital is overwhelmed with equipment shortages, they will find a way to treat the patient anyway. My hospital for example has the capacity to look after up to five patients requiring intubation (a machine doing the breathing for you). In the case where we have had people needing ICU  and our ICU is full (which has happened the last few flu seasons), we have treated the patient anyway in the ER and then transferred the patient to a hospital capable of continuing their care. I’m so gobsmacked that you’d even make a remark like this that I’m honestly wondering whether or not i should be offended. 

As of march 10, over 66 thousand people have recovered from the disease. That is more than half of those infected. 

I understand being afraid and uncertain because this is a new virus and the response to it is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before with other pandemics (Hello SARS, hello MERS, hello Swine Flu, hello HIV/AIDS! A few notable mentions since the 00′s). But for everyone using this website, the OP of the tweet posted is right: you probably won’t die from it. At most, you’ll feel like you’ve had the worst cold of your entire life and be stuck in bed for a few days. 

Take precautions! Wash your hands! Isolate yourself for 14 days if you’ve been in contact with someone who has the virus. 

But please stop spreading misinformation about the virus because it is doing NO one any favours and it is only contributing to irrational fear that is putting MORE burden on health systems that are already struggling enough.

DO NOT KICK A GOOSE. Geese are very important for nature as they maintain insect populations and they help pick weeds that try to kill useful plants! Geese are good, they’re just grumpy. Never kick one because you could fatally injure them. They do not have the bone structure to survive a strong kick.

I had to deal with this a lot because my family bred geese. Geese are not happy about their eggs being taken so after you take one, they remember for their whole lives. We had a farm, we did what we had to do in order to survive. We loved our geese and our geese loved us, just not when we were taking their babies.

Do not kill Geese just because they’re mean. Please

Yes you could crawl towards them, but that only works if it’s one goose. If it’s more than one attacking you, you can yeet them as they get close.

This post was about white geese, which is what we bred, but you can do this for Canadian geese too! Because attacking a Canadian goose can get you a fine and even jail time, this is a much nicer approach to being attacked by a goose.

Also for some reason a lot of replies are saying this can break a goose’s neck???? It can’t??? Don’t spread lies. Geese are built to be picked up by the neck and they have tons of muscles in their necks to support being thrown. This is how they fight each other. It doesn’t hurt them. Just stuns them.
