Ya know, the criticism over diamonds and validation in stories and all that is one thing.

But watching people send petty disgusting hate to other people… if I worked for Pixelberry, that would make me sick.

Im sure even they know that nothing in this world is rainbows and sunshine but I also hope that despite how bad the hate has gotten, they see how much good is still thriving in their fandom.

I am also thrilled that they made the psa to give reminders on how to shut off anon, or report people, with visuals. And they are right. You dont have to put up with that. It doesnt make you weak. No one deserves to be treated like that.

I know shy people like anon, but hopefully they can understand how its abused and how you may need to turn it off for a while. Its completely okay.

More importantly, take a break if you need to. If the internet has got you down, go outside and enjoy nature. Play with a pet. Hang out with a friend. Read a book. Anything that makes you happy.

Hey everyone! Normally, I post on here with news and writer interviews, but today I want to talk about something more serious. I’d like to make it clear that cyberbullying is never acceptable. If you are experiencing cyberbullying, there are resources to help you. Please read our FAQ on cyberbullying here. On Tumblr, there are a number of ways to combat and prevent cyberbullying. Here are a few:

1. Disable the ‘anonymous questions’ function. You can do that by tapping the avatar icon in the upper right, then Edit Appearance > Ask > Disable ‘Allow anonymous questions.’ You can also disable the ‘ask’ function on your blog entirely by de-selecting the ‘Let people ask questions’ option. You do not owe anyone online your time or attention, especially when they’re anonymous.  

2. You can block users, anonymous or not. If you receive a harmful message, you can tap the three dots at the bottom right to block. Blocking an anonymous user will block their IP address. You can also tap the avatar icon in the upper right of a blog and select block and/or report. 

3. Report cyberbullies. If you see or experience cyberbullying, you can report a specific blog by tapping on the avatar icon and selecting 'report.’ You can also report an anonymous message by tapping the three dots at the bottom of the message to report their IP address. Reporting should be accompanied by blocking. 

4. Take a break. Again, you don’t owe anyone online your time or attention. If what’s happening online is stressful or harmful to you, please take care of yourself. It’s always fine to step away from the online world for your own sake. (And if you’d like to take a break from Tumblr specifically, you can check out the Choices Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.) 

Please know that if you are experiencing cyberbullying, there are resources available, and people who love and support you – please don’t be afraid to reach out to them. I’m constantly inspired and motivated by the Choices fan community, and I hope that you will all continue to be there for each other. 

I LOVE this fandom. I have met so many amazing people here, I have met the most creative people, I even started writing again, but this fandom is getting out of control with the hate.

Let’s remember the games is called “Choices” and it’s also an app game. It’s 100% fine to dislike a character. I know I dislike a few characters that are beloved in this fandom but I don’t hate on other people for liking them. It’s their CHOICE (ya know cuz this app is called CHOICES) and I know some people don’t like my favorite characters and that’s 100% fine I totally respect it.

But what isn’t okay is to tell someone to kill themselves or send them hate for liking/disliking a certain character.

If you don’t like someone for liking a certain character then block them, unfollow them, get rid of their content on your blog if you really don’t like them. But don’t send anon hate. You have NO idea what someone is going through in their day to day lives.

Someone may actually listen to you and then you’re responsible for that person’s life. If you have nothing nice to say then don’t say anything at all. If you want to hate on a character then go ahead but don’t direct it at a certain blog because that’s not cool.

Let people hate/love whoever they want because you aren’t playing their version of choices. But stop sending hate and stop being mean to people. Block or unfollow someone if you really hate them that much.
