I truly think that if Eloise had let Theo kiss her that night, she would not have been able to possibly leave him. Giving up Bloomsbury was already practically impossible for her (she goes back even after she was written about in LW), and leaving Theo and his understanding of her was heart breaking (I don't think we talk enough about the swing scene in which Benedict straight up tells the audience Eloise is going through heartbreak), add to it giving up on her first venture with physical intimacy and she'd be unable to let him go.

I also think, from a more practical pov, Theo became much bigger than the writers had anticipated. CVD said in an interview that they all fell in love with the character as they wrote him. Calam's chemistry with Claudia was off the roof too. A kiss would have cemented the fact that they were perfect, and the fans would have never been able to forget them if they had had a kiss.

I totally understand why, since Theloise isn't endgame, they did not want to give them that kiss.

But I'm still so FUCKING MAD about it!!! We should've gotten it!!! Eloise and Theo deserved to have even just a little bit of each other forever!!!! They should've been each other's first kiss!!!!!
