THE FAME: PRIESTEX OF SLUDGE
The less serious out of “The Fame” bunch.
Since I was 10 years old going to local hardcore shows with my dad, the way everything played out always inspired me. The way people dressed, the attitude, the music, the inside jokes, the moshing, everything. It just made me want to experience that for myself in my own way once I got old enough.
It finally clicked here recently that sludge metal/doom metal is definitely a path I wouldn’t mind going down (and performing in one of those stuffy ass warehouse venues somewhere.)
My main takeaway in the scene would to make it known that I can be a queer person/woman in a male dominated space.
I want to be able to play shows and be respected by guys there, but also Kiki and smoke weed with the girls too (especially the ones that were “dragged to the show” by their boyfriends LMAOOO).
That being said, being a Genderfluid/DemiGirl (?) will most definitely have a big play in how I navigate my presence. I’m sure the men I’d be around would give me some sort of gender envy to where I start dressing like them (baggy jeans, chain wallets, hoodie/ baggy shirt, backwards hat, also maybe some sort of Lace bralette or thong to even out the energy 😭) but I also wanna confuse said men too and come to the stage in a high femme outfit with heels.
It makes me happy knowing I can confuse the hell out of an audience and scratch my itch for wearing everything and executing my own form of gender expression.
All in all, it would be a way of exercising inner child healing. I’ve always wanted to be in a band and play in trashy venues and scream/growl my voice away, but while getting high and looking good while doing so 💋
