Chloe didn’t give Max any warning that she was coming over, not a text or a call. Only when she actually arrived did she let her know by grabbing her phone from her pocket and dialing Max’s number. She didn’t want to knock on the door, knowing that Max had roommates and she didn’t want to wake any of them. When Max finally answer, she chuckles softly to herself as she reaches up to scratch the back of her neck. “I’m at your door, get dressed and get out here.” And before Max even had a chance to reply, she had already hung up the phone and shoved it back into her pocket.

“Anywhere. Just out.”

“Anywhere? Alright, do you wanna head to the bar with me?”

“I’m looking forward to the warmer weather but I’m not looking forward to the next few months. Summer is long and… Lonely and just all of the sad things.”

“I’m just not ready for the hot as fuck weather. I can’t wear my beanie in this weather without sweating my non-existent balls off and my beanie is my religion. But lonely and sad? Why’s that?”

“I was thinking we could go out tonight? Have some fun. That’s if your up to it.”

“Alright, I can dig it. Let’s head out tonight. Where do you wanna go? I’m up for anything, really.”

“Thirteen dogs? That’s…I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Sure, I’ll come along! I should just let you know though that I have no self-control when it comes to animals, so you might go home with like three…”

“Yep, that’s right. Thirteen dogs. It’s a good thing, him and his girlfriend take really good care of ‘em. At least I think so. Nuh uh, I’m going home with one, you may go home with the other two. I just don’t know what I want. A dog, a cat, a guinea pig, a bunny, lizard, bird, turtle. There’s so much to choose from!”

“I have a pup named Dragon and he’s the cutest little pup ever, and now I want more. I just think getting dogs is like addictive. Once you have just one, you want more.”

“Really What kinda dog is he? Oh boy, I feel that. My buddy Greyson has thirteen dogs right now. I think it’s time for me to finally head to this pet shop and get a dog. Or just an an animal of any sort. They’ve been taunting me too long. Wanna come?”

“Seven minutes…” Rosa sighed softly trying to hold her breath as if that would help her to keep still.

Chloe chuckles as she looked up at the girl, raising an eyebrow. “You don’t have to hold your breath.” She says with another soft laugh.

“I don’t know why I torture myself by going to the pet store around the block from my apartment all the time. It just keeps making me want to buy more and more puppies from there every day.”

“Come here,” Kayden said patting the spot on the bed next to him. “This is the first time I’ve felt chill in months, in fact, I feel amazing.. Come join the party.”  The brit requested quietly. 

Chloe raised an eyebrow as she came over to sit on the bed beside him, reaching up to fix her beanie. “The party? Looks like you’re just smoking up in here. But hey, if you feel amazing, I won’t shit on your party.”

“I swear this is not what it looks like.”

“Not what it looks like? Ain’t nothing wrong with smoking in a no smoking zone, right? Besides, I don’t really care. You got a a light I can borrow? Mines busted.”

“Oh, okay, uh wow. I’m gonna totally ruin this now.”

“No you’re not, don’t worry. I’m almost done anyways,  I just needed to sketch you out. So you can move around again in about... Seven minutes.”

“Cool. So let’s better get going, yeah? I’ll call an Uber for us.”

“Sounds like a plan, yeah. Where are we gonna go? There’s this really nice and abandoned subway station not to far. It’s really creepy, but really cool.”

“i found the prettiest flowers next to my door today. there wasn’t a note, i kind of want to keep them, but what if they weren’t actually for me?”

“Fuck it, who cares? They are hella pretty flowers. I say keep ‘em. Worst comes to worst the person who left ‘em will have to buy another bouquet.”

“I’ve got to get out of my house, there’s too much estrogen. I don’t care where we go, just get me out of here.”

“Ain’t nothing wrong with too much estrogen. But alright, where do you wanna go?”

“Wait, wait, wait you want me to do what?”

“You just gotta sit still and be your adorable self, babe. This shouldn’t take too long.”

“I’m craving to feel something. You know, get drunk, get high, make out with strangers. Lose myself… Those kind of things.”

“Well you’re in luck, cause I just so happen to like all those things. We all just wanna lose ourselves out there.”
