Red was everywhere. Red covered his clothes, his body, and a face he could not recognize anymore.

He was staring at a former lover, or perhaps someone he did still love. Kaeya’s hands twitched and trembled. Someone had taken his beloved away from him in the cruelest way. They had ripped him out from his arms and now his dearest Ajax was gone, the fond memories they had together stained a deep crimson.

Lemme also word vomit for a bit but I love the idea of Jean meeting someone who is strong, calm, and collected, in an almost princely way and she walks away from the interaction unable to think about anything else. Her face gets red recalling the memory and she secretly hopes they meet again.

In my modern AU, they meet at the gym. She asks Arle if she can spot her whilst weight lifting and from then on they run into each other unplanned at the gym every week. Jean talks about Arlecchino to Kaeya (and Diluc as well) frequently enough that it's clear to everyone except her that she has a crush.
