your eyes get a little blurry as you try to read the sentence again for the nth time. looking down on your notes, you notice that they’re mostly just scribbles and some letters have gotten off the line. yep, you’ve reached your limit and you’re completely dozing off from the lack of sleep you sacrificed to study for the upcoming exam.

a part of you wakes up when you hear your phone buzzing loudly as the only sound in your room. it actually took you a while to find it because you hid your phone in one of your table’s drawers, so you won’t get distracted while studying. you see the caller id, jakey the best bf 💘. in any other day, you would smile upon seeing him call but you were dead tired to even react or feel anything from it. but you still swipe it to answer because you always answer each other’s calls like a habit or like a muscle memory to your fingers.

“i already told you. no calls when i’m studying. you know i have an exam tomorrow morning.”

“i know. i’m sorry. but, can you come out of your apartment for a second?”

jake’s voice was certainly the opposite mood of yours. from his voice, you can already picture him smiling widely. in fact, he is. while his hands are occupied with his phone and a filled plastic bag, his feet are tapping the ground and stretching up slightly.

you furrow your eyebrows, trying to connect the dots. “are you here?”

“yeah, i am. i’m waiting outside. come quick. i brought you your favorite snacks.”

this gets you springing up right from your seat to your door in a second. when you went outside of the building, you see jake standing right in front of you with his free arm is extending out to invite you for your favorite hug. both of you were smiling and giggling like it was each other’s first times again. you walk up slowly to him then sink yourself in his embrace.

“how’s studying?”

“it’s hell. not everyone’s as smart as you.” you playfully hit his chest and he chuckles in response.

“you know i would help you if you let me, but you insisted on doing it on your own. so this is the least what i can do.”

the least? this was a huge help to you and it was the best part of your day even if it hasn’t even started yet. you want to shower your boyfriend with every compliment you can give but you settled with a most sincere “thank you.” you stay in the hug a little longer, relishing in his warmth that you missed for what felts like days. jake let you stay like that as long as you want, giving you light pecks on the top of your head from time to time. the two of you stood like that for a while until you pulled out from the hug first.

“now go eat these first before you go back studying again but i definitely recommend to sleep.”

he hands you the plastic bag and gives you one last kiss. the two of you wave goodbye and you watch him go to his parked car before walking back to the entrance of your apartment’s building.

“text me when you get home!”

“sure! text me also when you’re about to sleep!”

you shout to each other from a distance. it was past midnight so it was really quiet except for your voices. you definitely need that energy boost from him and jake’s always willing to give it to you.

sunwoo loves watching you like you're the most beautiful scene ever. you could do the most mundane things and he’d never get bored. one of his favorite moments is when you take off your makeup and do your skincare on the vanity desk. there’s just something about seeing you go back to bare face is satisfying for him.

“sunwoo? is there anything wrong?” you notice him staring behind you from his reflection on the mirror.

"no, nothing's wrong. it's- i just like watching you do that stuff."

he was startled when you caught him in his act. truth is, he's not even aware that you can see him from the mirror while he's staring at you, lying on the bed with his chin resting on his hand.

you smile at his response because it's so cute and wholesome. after scooting to make space on the seat, you turn to face him and pat the empty space beside you. “come here. sit beside me.”

“is this a vip seat?” he sits the empty side of the ottoman bench. you both chuckle at his joke.

“i've always wanted to try this with you. have you used toners and moisturizers before?” he shakes his head and curiously eyes the products laid out on the desk, not having a clue about their use and differences.

“wear this headband first.”

sunwoo lets you put the pastel blue headband with bunny ears, matching with the pink one that you're wearing. you giggle at how cute he looked but he didn't feel embarrassed. you proceed to talk about each product and while demonstrating it on your face, he quietly listens and stares at you lovingly.

“do you want me to apply it to your face?” he doesn't know what to answer but you read his mind. “okay, i’ll do it.”

something about your fingers delicately brushing his face feels soothing and at the same time, seeing your face up close makes his heart beat faster. he takes advantage of this moment to study each feature on your face closely, and it gives him more reasons to appreciate and love you more.

you stared at the empty night sky. so many thoughts filled your head. a breath of fresh air helped you clear the heavy clumps in your heart. the tears that rolled on your face had dried from the cold winter air. all you can think is about how you love jacob so much and you treasure your relationship. but it’s unavoidable to have days where you feel tired of arguing and understanding him.

you hated fights. you would rather give up your side just to avoid conflicts. you’re used to bottling up your feelings but you can’t ignore that they hurt you. you were too caught up in your thoughts that you didn’t notice jacob take a seat beside you.

“y/n,”

jacob looked guilty and apologetic, seeing you look so broken and fragile. he felt like the biggest jerk on the planet. he never meant to hurt you, but the stress took over him and he said words he regretted later. it took him some time to think, before coming to find you after you left the room. he reached out to hug you. both of your eyes closed, feeling the warmth of each other. you sobbed in his chest, eyes shut and your hand gripping his shirt.

“i’m sorry. i never should have said that.” you cried harder after hearing his apology and he held you tighter.

“i love you so much that i care a lot about what you think about me. so when you said...” you coughed, words struggling to come out from you.

“it was wrong. i never thought of you that way. i only thought about myself, and that was so selfish of me. i care about you the most and... and i’m so afraid of losing you.” jacob buried his head on your shoulder. “i love you. please forgive me.”

you said nothing. the sound of the wind gushing and busy streets filled the silence between you two. but for jacob, the silence pierced his ears, and waiting for you to say something felt like forever as if the time stopped. he doesn't have a clue to what you might be thinking but he felt like this could be it. you're going to break up with him.

you didn't reply yet because you calmed yourself down and gathered your thoughts after hearing his apology. you stared at him, taking the moment to see if he really meant it. and he did. his eyes were tearful but they spoke so much of how he loves you.

“i can’t imagine myself leaving you.”

somehow you managed to say it without cracking your voice. silence enveloped the two of you again, never letting go of each other's hands. a small snowflake fell between you two and you followed its path until it reached his lap. you looked around and saw more snowflakes fall around you. you smiled at the beautiful sight of the place slowly coated in white. jacob felt relieved seeing you smile again and it brought a smile to his face too.

“it’s the first snowfall of the year,” he mentioned.

“let’s play with it.” you grinned at him and he took your hand, dragging you to stand and twirl at the beautiful snowfall. you landed on his chest, making you both giggle. "i love you."

you and ni-ki are having one of your weekly movie nights, sitting side by side on the couch. you chose a romantic drama for tonight's movie. ni-ki is silently watching, leaning back and snuggling with one of the pillows.

leaning forward in your seat, all of the emotions pile up as you watch the climax of the movie. he can feel that you were close to crying already, even though he can only see your back. with an arm around your shoulder, he gently pushes your back to lie on his chest. his thumb rubs small strokes on your left shoulder to relax you while you were full-on sobbing at this point and your hands are busy brushing the tears away from your face.

you’re the emotional one between the two of you. ni-ki always lets you cry all the way because he’s there to comfort you. he also helps you reduce the swelling in your eyes so it doesn’t get puffy the next morning.

“that was a beautiful movie,” you break in between sobs when the credits appeared.

“yeah,” he lied. it was in the ‘okay’ range for him but he doesn’t want to disrupt your moment. he gets up from his seat and stands in front of you.

“get up.” he takes your hand and tugs it. “let’s heal your eyes.”

you whine, feeling tired after watching. “can’t you just take the ice yourself? please, for me?”

“no,” you frown at his answer. “come on, we can get ice cream from the kitchen too.” the mention of the sweet dessert sounds tempting but you don’t want to give up yet.

“kiss me first.” you pucker your lips, waiting for a kiss, and make kissy sounds. you intentionally did it to annoy him but you’re enjoying it.

ni-ki grabs both of your arms to pull you up and leans down to kiss the top of your head. your shoulders drop down in disappointment. it was not the kiss you wanted.

it’s not long until he decides to give up teasing you, although you looked cute pouting, and gives you a quick peck on your lips. it instantly lifts your mood that you jump from the couch and cling to his body as you walk to the kitchen.
