Love Peters absolutely disgusted face watching the documentary about spider life cycles. Primarily because it implies that he's really just NEVER looked into spiders before. Like, molting is pretty basic shit, HOW did he avoid learning about it for so long?? Did he just really not want to even think about his spider-ness that badly?

Actually im tired of all these people trying to fully deny that ned and mj had anything going on with their brains in the movie.

Why was nobody else crying then? Not even Ned? Why would they show us Ned remembering the handshake? Why did they show MJ on the roof explicitly shown in flashback scenes with the Necklace Peter gave her? Why did she draw him in an old Spiderman costume when she had a reference right there?
iām not saying Ned and MJ 1 billion percent remembered Peter, but to act like thereās nothing going on when there is is silly. This is a movie. This is a very intentionally made movie and they wouldnāt add this many random details for it to have no payoff.
Especially when Bruce mentioned that Jean ābroke somethingā in his brain. And then she proceeded to gain control over Ned and Mjs minds. I donāt know what it means, but it means something. Not everything is a coincidence.
can't stop thinking about how hysterical project hail mary would be from rocky's pov when you consider that, by eridian standards, basic human functioning is simultaneously an incredibly hostile and violently perverted body horror fetish nightmare. imagine you make first contact with an alien and it's an apex predator with an obscene number of orifices, made up mostly of toxic substances that it oozes constantly from said orifices, thrives in an unforgivingly cold and suffocating atmosphere, is highly motivated by searching for its next meal + consumes its food publicly in violation of your society's main taboo, and is capable of rapidly transitioning from vulnerable in sleep to alert and in full possession of its faculties at the slightest change in stimuli. grace is in a heartwarming scifi buddy comedy and meanwhile rocky is bonded with and planning on bringing home his species' equivalent of the xenomorph.

i think its a lil sad how often people will like restrain themselves from exploring new identities and hobbies because they don't want it to be an "embarrassing phase" because honestly i think its way cooler to have a diverse and varied lifestyle that you can look back on and say "omg i used to love doing that!" and apply those skills and interests to something else.

I keep seeing videos of people complaining about the tech that Peter has in bnd, but are we forgetting that the guy dumpster dives?
Literally one of the first things we learn about Peter in his introduction to the mcu is that he builds his own tech with older tech he finds in the trash, the weird 3d printer we see him use is literally made with the deconstructed parts of the sewing machine from the end of nwh. Not to mention that what we see is very scrappy and full of wires and random shit just added on because Peter cares more about the functionality of his tech rather than it looking spiffy.
Like Peter is canonically a genius, it's why he gets bullied in the comics, it makes sense that he would've upgraded all of his technology to make his life easier. It's how he built his web shooters and developed his web fluid and built his own ai. People yearn for a character only to then complain about it

i think the new spider-man was such a beautiful movie because it wasnāt about another huge multiversal/ābig potatoā crisis. it was about being human.
there are so many themes woven into it. maturing through loss. accepting every version of yourself, no matter how much you change. learning to let the people around you help instead of carrying everything alone.
i think thatās why spider-man has always been the peopleās superhero. heās the most down-to-earth one. we relate to him because he struggles the same way we do. one way or another, a lot of us grew up with a spider-man, whether it was Tobey, Andrew, or Tom. and thereās something so comforting about seeing someone with incredible power still having to deal with ordinary life, grief, loneliness, relationships, and simply trying to figure out who they are.
this movie left an imprint on my soul in such a healing way, the same way the new superman movie left me with this quiet hope that things can get better. i love superhero stories that remind you that saving the world is important, but learning how to live in it is just as heroic.

God I love Peter and Frank's interactions. I love their accents getting thicker when they yell at eachother. I love how natural the relationship felt. I have never not liked a grizzled old man with a soft spot for a kind kid.

Is it just me who's pumped about Sadie Sink's Jean. It's a different take on the character than in the previous movies where the character was already established, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. Before we had a grown Jean, that has mourned her losses and learned to project her experiences into helping young mutants, but she doesn't have anyone to learn that from here. And the fact that we get to see this story makes me SO thrilled and I know Sink CAN fill these shoes as she's already shown in BND. I'm VERY happy with the choice.
Fascinating how what's considered feminine and what's considered masculine can change over time. The rebranding of being a horse girl into being a stereotypical feminine girly trait needs to be studied.
