Loved the reveal of vmax in this movie. It was so simple yet so impactful. How I love you Jean Gray

thinking about frank constantly calling peter “kid” and allowing peter into his home despite being someone who does things on his own. thinking about frank feeling protective enough over peter to go and risk his life to have his back. thinking about the horror on frank’s face when he realized he shot peter. peter who is someone’s son. peter who has saved his ass. peter who was brave enough to jump in front of that bullet. peter who is around the age of his kids if they were still alive. thinking about the fact that frank was reliving his worst day through that moment, where he once again saw himself as the villain.

When I was hesitant about Frank Castle being in Brand New Day, what I failed to account for is that Frank is the perfect person to hear "I'm staying away from my loved ones to protect them" and respond with "that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Go talk to them."

I love how in Daredevil, Frank Castle is like this intimidating guy who's a well matched threat to the hero but in Spiderman he's still the same character but Peter just... does not treat him with the same amount of gravity. He webs Frank's mouth shut for swearing and tells him to go home after breaking his van. He argues with the man who's whole deal is he has a lot of weapons and WILL use them like two New Yorkers who got into a fender bender. Peter Parker and Frank Castle see each other coming and they both go "This fucking guy again." I love it.

no because imagine having a platonic soulmate in the way ned and peter are soulmates !! truly it makes me sick thinking about the fact that ned constantly felt peter’s presence !! and wanted to find him !! and felt connected to spiderman the whole time !! and instantly fell back into old habits with peter as spiderman !! and remembered his best friend through something so simple yet so special between the two of them !! i’ll throw up !! ned and peter i love you !!

if you zoom in on ned then spider-man brand new day is literally like what if you felt your heart reaching out for another person so fondly and fiercely that you build an app that connects millions of people just so you can know where he's been and you want to find out who he is behind his many masks just so you can say thank you (and be safe and i love you) and you have a secret handshake in the well of your memory and a lego figurine on your desk and there's another aspect of those memories that your mind can't really hold onto but you keep trying to build a life around those empty spaces and then one day you're eating a sandwich and a man tells you his name and oh.... how could you ever have forgotten your best friend?

the peter & frank duo was one of the best parts of the movie i'm crying i love them they're so stupid

I was impressed with how NOT tropey they managed to make MJ’s relationship with Peter after having forgotten him. We don’t dwell on any sort of disbelief where she’s convicted it can’t possibly be true. She knows it’s true, and that’s part of why it hurts her and confuses her. We also don’t have any type of “she doesn’t care about him anymore” sentiment meant to punch us in the gut. Yes it’s very sad for Peter that she doesn’t love him, but ofc she doesn’t since you can’t love someone you can’t remember—but she does care about him. Because you don’t actually have to know someone intimately to care about them, so even though MJ has none of the memories of her intimate relationship with Peter, she still has intelligent and curious conversations with him, then finds out their history and feels for him and is honest with him and sees his bravery and deservingness and invites him to come meet Ned because she knows that will mean a lot to him. Because MJ is a caring person, not just to her best friend and boyfriend, and so as painful as it is that she doesn’t remember Peter being the love of her life, it was so much more bearable than it could have been, because they didn’t murder her character to contribute to Sad. There’s a reason MJ made Peter so happy to begin with, and she’s still that same MJ, memories or not. She still has all the same qualities that made her fall in love with him and him fall in love with her, even if she doesn’t have the memories and feel that same love. And I kind of love that actually.

Again Spider-man brand new day spoilers but what do you mean people are pissed at MJ for saying she doesn't love Peter yeah no shit she doesn't know that man sorry thats what happens when you specifically cast a spell to erase someone's memory of you then do nothing to reintroduce yourself to them for several years hello consequences of Peter's choices
