Renowned for their unique fur print and sharp gaze, given the mark the 'Eye of the Tiger', these wild creatures are found in groups, streaks, looking after their young most times. While not the queen of the jungle, a tigress is relatively larger in size and more muscular. Even more contrasting, they don't have to follow the lead of their male counterpart as opposed to in a lion's pride. Tigers by nature are more solitary and this applies the most to a female protecting her cubs from anything she deems a threat.

Yavan Jataka of says "One born in Chitra will be fond of wearing garlands and robes, be learned in the science of sexual love, splendorous, wealthy, will enjoy pleasure and be scholarly."

Whatever the level of spiritual development, the individual under this asterism must glimpse the vision of perfection, struggle in some way to attain the ideal and concretize the vision, and come a little closer to the final goal of their destiny.
