You know what I need to talk about? The absolute feral chaos in episode 6 where Brad, for what seems like the second time in the whole goddamn series, gets to go investigate something on foot and ends up getting shot at by Alpha. And while they hit the deck, we have Patterson just motherfucking booking his ass down the road while Ray swerved to the side and guns it. Walt just bouncing around up top and actually portraying the practiced balance of a goddamn professional tightrope walker while Ray off-roads and screeches about assholes. Patterson catches up, the goddamn speed runner he is, and says sergeant, what the fuck, in the most vine-able voice I’ve ever heard. The guy shooting then says, in a tone more reminiscent of a child that got in trouble on the playground, my staff sergeant told me to engage ALL movement, just out here BACKTALKING his war-dad Patterson, and Ray gets there and stomps his little fired-up butt out of the car in the ultimate “fight me bro” arm spread because that’s his husband and combat children how mother fucking DARE this dumb motherfucker. And Patterson has to deal with THIS child, who shouldn’t even be his responsibility, before he can deal with his own so he just tiredly walks over and spins Ray’s ass right around with a hand on his shoulder like Mufasa walking Simba back home after he fucked around with the hyenas. All this happens while everyone else watches calmly from their vehicles, just another Tuesday my folks, another one for the diary Cody. Meanwhile Ray presumably has to drive back into formation, frothing at the mouth while Brad just gets up and says “mistakes happen” with less stress than me when I drop my butter toast face down on the carpet. Chaotic. Visionary. Ridiculous. Underrated.
