This infographic illustrates some main differences between online library databases and search engines. A library database is an organized collection of electronic information that allows a user to search for a particular topic, article, or book using keywords, subject, author, and title. Examples include EBSCO Academic Search Premier and Project Muse. Their purpose is to help users access relevant and credible materials that have been reviewed and indexed by experts in a given field. Potential challenges: databases are not always free or open to the public, but luckily, your college covers the cost so that you can access them as a student for free! An online search engine uses computer algorithms to search the internet and identify items that match the characters and keywords entered by a user. Examples include Google and Yahoo. Their purpose is to link users to information produced by individuals, groups, organizations, and governments. Potential challenges: Most information on the web has not been evaluated and can be inaccurate or out of date.

I'm looking at Amazon for water pitchers ($30-50 range) and electronic devices ($500-2000 range).  I wondered if anyone has used one of these and could advise or recommend a brand or type. Currently, I'm buying spring water, but I find it wasteful and can only tolerate tap water for one day before staring to flare.
