Chapter One: Old Injury

She tried to push herself up, hissing with pain when her left wrist wouldn't support her weight. Broken, maybe? She wasn't sure. She blinked furiously, willing her blurry vision to clear. One of her swords had fallen an arm's length away, but before she could make a grab for it, a shadow fell across her.

The other day I came across some old official Zelda art and it kind of inspired me to doodle a Tears of the Kingdom based redraw of it!

Rayla, Duren, the sunfires, Rayla, the sky arcanum, dark magic, his wounds, their next steps, Rayla – it was all so much and he didn’t know where to start. Sometimes he would try to pluck at one of the many strings that this mess consisted of, but eventually he’d shrink back from the worries and insecurity that he always discovered.

Also, my drawings look a little different because I used a tablet this time ! Yeh I bought a new one in like December eheh, I always used my phone to draw up till now !

“Glad to be of service, my lady.” Callum bowed to her, grinning as she scoffed and rolled her eyes.

“You’re really taking to the sky magic stuff.” Rayla said once he was back standing up-right.

Gone was the silly smirk of moment before, replaced with a soft, fond smile.

“It’s the primal stone.” He shrugged, raising the ever-flashing sphere in his hand.

“No, it’s you.” Rayla insisted calmly, gently pushing the sphere and the hand holding it down by his side. “I’ve heard about people using primal stones before. Sure, pretty much anyone can do magic with one, if they can draw the runes, but you’re commanding an entire sky.” She gestured to the vast expanse, then turned back to him.
