i've become too attached to my own spec so it's becoming its own post. so as a callback to last time bobby was forced out of work in season 2 and everyone came to him to complain about tyrannical interim cap han i want everyone going to him to check up on him in his involuntary retirement slash recovery which clearly devolves into each of them complaining spectacularly about gerard. but whilst this is happening in each scene bobby's trying out a new hobby. so like buck comes over and starts complaining about gerard being homophobic to hen and how it's absolutely disgusting and blatant and he's ordered this super secret spy pen to try and capture some of the harassment tp send to the higher ups meanwhile bobby's knitting a really terrible scarf like you can't really tell it's a scarf so we'll just call it indiscernible project #5 (the background is just full of yarn and half-finished projects). hen comes over to essentially curse gerard out for the triplewhammy of racism, homophobia and sexism - aisha eats the most eloquent rant in the world about and all of us quote it and write odes to it and get it tattooed on us. bobby is giving her his full attention as he tries out a bit of claywork, the scene ends with him offering up one of his deformed pots for her to smash to maybe help her let a little bit of anger out (hen accepts but she says it's only to put the poor thing out of its misery, bobby smiles to himself because it feels like old times in the firehouse). eddie comes to complain about how difficult it is watching everyone be hurt ny gerard over and over(he's fully compartmentalised the discrimination he's getting) and also how buck's not really seeming to grasp that gerard is being homophobic to him as well as hen (he's super fixated on this he has no idea why and he's unwilling to examine it too closely) bobby is attempting a still life portrait of a fire extinguisher, it's actually pretty good. chimney comes over and goes on an absolute cunt-serving, dick-gagging, he ATE monologue where he takes barely a breath the whole time and kenneth choi gets an emmy on the spot for it. bobby is attempting to make his own jewellery (he's working on a little bracelet for jee-yun at this point). dragons i'm asking for a flight to LA and $1,000,000 to make this happen

i truly think that if you told 2017 Maddie of the life she has today she would look at you like you’re crazy. her journey has absolutely been one of the best, if not the best, in the show, going from a woman on the run from an abusive husband to having to kill that man to recovering from that trauma to falling in love and becoming a mother. and now she’s married again to a man who is nothing like the one she was with for over a decade, with a daughter who will never have to feel as unwanted and unloved like Maddie did for most of her life pre LA, and I’m just too emotional about it.

it does make my heart ache that maddie grew up to be a nurse...as a kid she was always caring for buck's injuries, but even before then, she was old enough to remember the hospital stays for daniel, to be the one holding his hand, trying to protect her baby brother from something she couldn't even see. anyway 😭

i’m not even saying she dislikes him or anything but when people say hen & tommy are friends and their evidence is that she jokes with him and went out for drinks that one time i’m like, i have done that with coworkers i didn’t particularly care for it’s called having a job. contrary to what the 118 would have you believe your only options for coworkers are not toxic workplace environment or found family lol.
