Ever since I came across rising Detroit star GRiZ, I've been a huge fan and supporter of his work.  He most recently performed a collab set at Electric Forest Music Festival in Rothbury, Michigan, just this past weekend with two of my other favorite artists, Gramatik and Big Gigantic (they called the collab "Big Grizmatik").  GRiZ's style reminds me of a mashup of Pretty Lights meets Gramatik's No Shortcuts and #digitalfreedom albums, something like R&B, jazz, and soul meet down-tempo, dub-infused, eargasms.  This hard hitting remix is of Damian Marley's Welcome to Jamrock and is one of those instant summertime bangers for any fan of heavy electronic jams.  Definitely turn up the bass and blast this heady tune on full volume.

Big Gigantic has been one of my favorite acts for well over the past year.  I've seen the duo at a number of festivals and venues and they always bring the heat.  This remix of Savoy's We are the Sun is absolutely HUGE and trails away from the usual feel of a Big Gigantic track.  As with their latest album release, they have been heavily influenced by the dubstep genre and this track is no different.  There is definitely a lack of live saxophone and drums in comparison to some of their earlier stuff, but this track shows the versatility and range of Big Gigantic.  Check them out at a festival near you this summer and I can assure you that you will not be disappointed! 

So my roommate stumbled across this kid a while ago and told me to check him out.  I've not came across too many 16-year-old kids who have both the talent to rhyme and produce in the manner that he is.  Chris Felner, aka Felly (for his raps) aka RobFel (for his beats), is definitely someone to look out for in a few years while he hones in his skills.  He has continued to gain thousands of plays on his videos and has uploaded almost 90 videos/tracks to his YouTube account to date.  Check out his website for the most up-to-date information on this kid. 

I have to give some proper love to Tayyib Ali.  This kid has an addictive flow and is one of the best up-and-comers in the hip hop community.  Although he put this track out on his mixtape last year, it is undoubtedly one of those feel-good summer time tracks.  The 19-year-old Philly native has been gaining recognition on a ton of blogs over the past year and more and more hip hop artists are teaming up with him for collabs.  Keep your eye on this guy as I think you'll be seeing a lot more of him in the next few months and year. Also, don't forget to check him out on the 25-date tour with Logic and on his website.

He and another rising hip hop phenom, Tayyib Ali, begin their 25-date tour on July 11th.  Check them both out in a city near you.

Today we have a Bassnectar track that is nothing short of bass heavy.  Known for his unique style, his non-stop touring and live shows, and his filthy drops, Lorin once again brings another banger to life.  Sit back, turn up the bass, and enjoy this massive remix.

Released just today is the brand spankin' new album release from Pretty Light Music album, Michal Menert.  With his infusion of hip hop, glitch, electro, jazz, and so many other genres of music, he brings a truly unique flavor and freshness to this album.  With 27 amazing tracks this album has some definitely color and texture to it.  It's not often these days that any artist, none-the-less an electronic artist, puts out an album of 100 minutes of excellence.  As is the custom with all of the Pretty Lights Music artist's albums, this one is available for free (w/ the option of donating) on the PLM website.  Go check out this album for real.  Menert has harnessed himself in his swagship and is blasting off in to space.

I've only recently been turned on to Cut Copy, even though they have been around for over a decade. This video layers the dancey tunes of "Saturdays" on top of some psychedelic clips of Pretty in Pink. Enjoy.
