October 2, 1950 - Charles Schulz’s comic strip “Peanuts” makes its debut in newspapers.  It would run for almost 50 years until his death, a total of 17,897 strips published in all, making it “the longest story ever told by one human being”.  At its peak, Peanuts ran in over 2600 newspapers with a readership of 355 million in 75 countries, and was translated into 21 languages.

It’s a Sunday in early autumn, you are awaken by the sound of rain hitting your windows and feel a brisk breeze blowing in. There’s thunder in the distance. You hear the faint sound of a train blowing its horn. You put your cozy socks on and walk downstairs to the kitchen. You fill your kettle with water and turn on the stove. You prepare a cup of hot tea, grab some shortbread cookies, and head on back upstairs. You and your dog jump back into bed, cozy up under 3 layers of blankets, and listen to the storm roll in as you have a Halloween movie playing on tv.
