-Touch. Sitting shoulder to shoulder, leaning against one another. Flopping down next to or on each other. Napping in strange positions where they’re folded over each another like flour sacks. Vibrating growls and tightening holds. Raking nails through hair. The way he grabs her wrist or hand to take her somewhere in a hurry. They share a sense of unbelonging and are grounded in each other’s personal space. Birds of a feather and all.

-Calling each other partners. Prioritizing each other’s company over others and keeping track of each other. Showing up for each other when a fight’s wanted. They can rely on each other to push the other to their absolute limit. Allowing the other close when injured or exhausted.

-Jewel being a voice of reason that’s enough to give him pause to think. She isn’t emotionally demanding or needy, and he appreciates that lack of pressure. Sharing silence and presence when the other feels off.

-“Don’t die on me out there.”

-Casual nudity around each other. If a battle destroys Jewel’s clothes she’s won’t bother with modesty, and neither would he. Sitting together in an onsen or swimming out somewhere in nature. Grimmjow reads Jewel’s nudity as an expression of trust. He gets a little territorial over her if someone else sees her nude and opens their mouth about it. He’s proven he can handle her icy body. Jewel isn’t that trusting and casual about her body with anyone else.

-Exploring hostile environments, hunting strong opponents, and finding strange artifacts together. Grimmjow thinks Jewel’s penchant for collecting certain things is pointless but he starts bringing her things on rare occasion anyway, say, if it reminded him of a fight or an event. He could have destroyed it but brought it to her instead.
