Always suppressing your anger just to achieve a performative level of “niceness”, merely so that other people think you’re palatable and likable, is incredibly unhealthy for women. Men can get away with being violent and aggressive in everything they do but women have to maintain an appearance of being balanced and sweet so that they don’t threaten anyone, especially men. This is one of the many ways women are taught to drain themselves. I prefer being hated by manipulative and judgmental people to forcing myself to be something I’m not just for validation.

Remember, you can disappear into the woods whenever you want. You’re an adult.
