Life's a party and I'm the piñata

I just realised. Asa and Anthony are not Aziraphale and Crowley in our universe, but, instead, they are just 1 out of INFINITE versions of them spanning across every universe.

During the end credits, they pop up again and again in many forms, some of which we have seen and others we havent; we see them in 1941 as well as the graveyard in Edinburgh, but we also get to see them dressed as construction workers on the M25, as a pair of swimmers and even vegetables (I think?). Asa and Anthony are just 1 of these incarnations. And they are always together.

Crowley and Aziraphale are now part of infinity, always destined to meet in every universe, in every lifetime, in every form. The last version of them we see is an Angel and a Demon, sharing a toast in the garden of Eden, having gotten their wish of being together for eternity

The scene we get with Michael at the Eternal flame is very important. She says: 'Do you remember the Metatron? He's here somewhere, I think.' And the Metatron RESPONDS TO HER.

He says: 'Oh yes, I'm still here. You still know I existed, Michael.' Which seems to imply that as long as there is somebody who remembers you, you still live on in a way even after being erased from the Book of Life. Not physically, but a part of you still remains.

We, the viewers, know that Aziraphale and Crowley existed, so, even after they have been wiped from existence, part of them is still alive because we remember them. Aziraphale and Crowley can never truly not exist because WE know of their existence.

It's not the ending we all wanted, however, I feel like it was the correct ending. Admittedly, before the finale came out I was staunchly on the 'They better not become humans' side of things, but I think that's changed a bit now.

Aziraphale and Crowley gave up everything so that humans could have the chance to make their own choices without being part of a celestial game of solitaire and that is very appropriate for them I feel. Everything they've ever done was because they loved Earth, Earth was what gave them to chance to become who they are and yes, they love eachother there is no argument about that, but they both understood that this was bigger than them.

The system was broken and as much as Aziraphale would have liked, there was no way to fix it because no matter what, God would always have all the cards; the only way to change it would be to make it so that God never existed.

'But they didn't kiss' them kissing was not the proof that they loved eachother, the 6000 years of time they spent together, becoming more human than any Angel or Demon ever had was proof of their love, the fact that they were willing to give it all up together so that the Earth could be free was proof of their love. The Earth is what made Aziraphale and Crowley fall in love, of course they would choose it.

Yes it's sad that they're human (in a sense) and have mortal lifespans and no miracles but Aziraphale and Crowley never would have wanted it any other way. Crowley cut ties with his demonhood as soon as he could because he hated it, Aziraphale only became the Supreme Archangel because he believed he might have a chance at making it slightly less miserable to be an Angel. The Earth made them human and they chose humanity above all else.

Their love was so strong that billions of years later, in a tiny bookshop in London, against all other odds, they found eachother again. Asa and Anthony managed to find love without being a part of God's ineffable game of cards and it's all thanks to humanity and the Earth.

The cards are in our hands now, as the fans, to do with however we please. Even if you hated the ending, you have the power to change it, to create universes where it never happened, just as there are infinite universes and timelines. Aziraphale and Crowley's love is so strong that they find eachother in every universe. So write, draw, create.
