do you.. mayhaps.. feel like sharing the time lapse replay.. (and anything else about it that you have to share :D) I’m very very curious as to what the process of making that drawing was, cause. Ofmfnfnfndhd I adore it, I think the colors are beautiful and the textures and the shfkdhd all of it

You’re Murdering Me was actually a collection of a bunch of things i drew seperately!!! A lot of it came from just. Drawing Ryland crying lmao
When i read phm drawing ryland wrapped around himself in 0g was something i kept sketching over and over, but i didnt finish any really, until this big blue one which was actually just something I did Just Because i had it for a while before I decided to go further with it
I started with a paper sized canvas, and just threw every sketch i could find that I had ever done of Ryland Crying, lots were sketches or scribbles in my sketchbooks irl so a lot of them were just pictures of drawings, which is where all the texture came from.
I wish I had a better explanation beyond “i just mushed stuff together” but thats pretty much it. The key being that I used layer effects quite a lot. I recorded a little video flipping through the layers!!
I adore mixed media, so i thought layering my traditional drawings in with my digital ones would create the CHAOS i wanted which it did. Stumbling upon the Difference layer was really by surprise and it kinda kicked the rest of the whole thing into gear tbh.
As for big blue ryland, his texture comes from the oil paint brushes in CSP
I love working in the oil brushes with hypersaturated colours, i do handpick all my colours but when i feel like im almost done I throw in a multiply, overlay, or screen layer over things just to see what it does. For this piece i think my process was a little more scattered and random, but I think that lends to the emotion of the scene it’s from
