Me, realizing when Kylie Minogue sings “I wanna go out dancing” in her new single “Dancing,” she doesn’t mean “out to the club” but rather “out of existence” and the song is a powerful reckoning with both her own mortality and a retort to ageism and all those who criticize veteran pop stars for continuing to dare to create and perform as they age:
