Kayn’s breaths were forced to stay slow and even, regaining the energy to embrace the shadows once more. They just needed to draw this stalemate out, and then a retreat could be attempted. Deciding to balance on a blade’s edge, their gaze bores into the archer’s, unblinking as they answer his insults and queries.

“ The only reason you’re in my presence is because of the weapon you wield. You’re not special.”

                       𝐓𝐇𝐄     𝐒𝐂𝐘𝐓𝐇𝐄     𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐒     𝐈𝐍     𝐓𝐇𝐄     𝐀𝐈𝐑,    suspended     in     space     by     the     invisible     force     holding     cells     together.     It’s     a     miracle     at     all     that     Kayn     maintains     control     :     with     the     obvious     power     radiating     beneath     tanned     skin,     the     void     around     him     shimmers     with     movement.     The     look     in     his     eye     says     it     all     :     he     may     be     in     control,     but     it     all     could     snap     away     at     any     moment.     There     is     an     insanity     lurking     just     beneath.

His little curiosity always brought him somewhere to the ones that catch his interest. The little death and destruction of expendable Noxian soldiers didn’t bother him. After all, they didn’t really work under him and they weren’t so....deadly as him and the ones who followed him. Some that were recruited were often cowards or were too weak to survive. 

The noble’s hands were clasped behind his back as he stared at the other who landed before him. Already noting how.....he wasn’t so very graceful or have class about him.

“I don’t believe in bright places. Only the darkness is my one true place to be.”

A dark chuckle left the other’s lips at the little insult that sought to offend him. How often he had heard the same thing over and over on the streets of Noxus? How often had those individuals who had spoken ill of him killed by him or either by his cabal or by his lovely and talented students?

“Oh let’s call it a hunch, my dear.” Vladimir mused. “Or the fact that this air about you simply.......boils my blood.”

The noble had experienced the time of the Darkin wars. One he was so very unlucky to be in. The memory of the blasted and pathetic Darkin still left wounds that couldn’t heal. No matter how many centuries that passed. 

“I am called Vladimir.....But I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to tell you a little bit of how I know.”

The archer felt a sense of triumph from the chain of corruption landing.

May 16th, 2021 Update

-Updated Varus’s pronouns in about. They now use He/Him and They/Them pronouns.

I don’t agree with Project Varus using They/Them for having ‘multiple minds’! I already aired my thoughts about it in a previous post, so I won’t be repeating myself on the matter, nor was it confirmed by anyone from riot that Varus uses they or them outside of Project, in his base canon. But I do like the thought of my Varus muse using He/They pronouns. In the future, please refer to them as either, or both sets of pronouns!

Patrol ... It seems like a pitiful waste of his talent, really, but Zed is a big believer in everyone pulling their weight. Kayn rather thinks he pulls his own weight as well as much of the Order’s, but when he mentioned that to Zed, the Master had just gone silent until Kayn had left WITH YOUR TAIL BETWEEN YOUR LEGS, I MIGHT ADD. CAN YOU STOP THINKING ABOUT THIS? I’M SICK OF LISTENING TO IT. “Imagine, then, what it’s like to have you in my head all the time.”

                                                                                                                      Being alone with his thoughts is obviously a thing of the past, too. AW, YOU DO CARE. NOW STOP SPINNING ME, IT’S MAKING ME DIZZY. The scythe turns absently in Kayn’s hand as he stalks through the woods at the base of the Thanjuul mountain range. “An ancient being of war and bloodlust cannot handle a bit of momentum...?” No, Kayn has no intention of stopping — or at least, not until he spots a lone figure far closer to the temple than he (or, more importantly, Zed) would like. Kayn’s pace quickens, bringing him with in earshot of the stranger in the span of a few heartbeats.” 

Varus bursts out in laughter.
