Aaaaand here are your slow-cooked but certainly yummy Astro preggie headcanons for you, which also includes plenty of fluff!
Much like the pregnant Looey headcanons, I wrote these headcanons for Astro a year ago, but I made some adjustments before posting to this blog since my writing has improved. Hopefully you all enjoy these headcanons just as much as I do! <3
⏾ Pregnant Astro Headcanons ⏾
⏾ I’m just gonna say right now that Astro’s pregnancy experience, although beautiful and comforting, has also been quite chaotic. You wanna know why?
⏾ It’s because, for many years, Astro was constantly having babies, with two of those pregnancies being SETS OF TWINS! That can easily explain why Astro’s oldest children are between the ages of 11 and 18 😅
⏾ Despite all that, Astro actually doesn’t mind having a lot of children! The reason for this is, surprisingly enough, he wants a big and loving family, a dream he shares with Dandy 💕
⏾ It’s easy for him to achieve that dream too, since Astro is a Beta-Carrier! Of course, he still decided to wait until two years after the toons settled into their new home, since the moon toon wanted to be sure that he was well and truly ready for children.
⏾ Oh, and as for the children he ends up carrying? Don’t worry, he decided to take a few breaks after having his 11-year-old… which can explain why he also has only a few little kids and toddlers x3
⏾ Every time Astro was pregnant, he was quite happy and calm, which surprised the others who knew him a little x3 Heavens, the moon toon was still calm, even with the horrendous pregnancy symptoms, like the morning sickness and the body aches!
⏾ Of course, there were times where Astro genuinely felt uncomfortable thanks to some of those pregnancy symptoms, but he was able to manage them with the help of his partner(s), some of which gave him warm tea, helped massage his aching body and even tell him he is an amazing dad 💕
⏾ He also did the occasional self-care to help with the pregnancy pains and discomforts, even though most of it was just him resting up (as he should!). Aside from resting in bed, Astro also had warm Epsom salt baths to help with any aches and pains, and he took brief walks around the town’s park whenever he had enough energy.
⏾ Though I can safely say that one thing Astro did whenever he was pregnant was sleeping a lot, and I mean a LOT! Not only is sleeping a normal habit of the moon toon’s, but some of his unborn babies gave him an easier time, so he found no difficulty in getting some good shuteye! It usually baffles some of the other toons... and makes the childbearing ones a little jealous 😅
⏾ Of course, peaceful naps and nights of slumber would sometimes be impossible for Astro, since a select few of his little ones would keep him up with their kicks, and not to mention all the body aches and the craving runs would keep the moon toon up all night 😅😥
⏾ Yet even with all those discomforts keeping him awake, Astro doesn’t mind it too much, since he knows it’s a sign that his little one is doing fine in his belly 💕 Regardless, he still tries to get as much rest as possible when he is pregnant 😴
⏾ Surprisingly, Astro does not have super intense cravings like some of the other childbearing toons do, but during his first pregnancy, he noticed that he had a preference for comfort food, like Sprout and Cosmo’s cooking, which isn’t surprising given how well those two can cook! 🍳
⏾ In later pregnancies, however, Astro’s cravings got a little weirder, with some infamous examples being ketchup-flavoured cake pops, and anchovy pizza with VANILLA YOGHURT on top 🤢
⏾ Now this is where things get fluffy :3 Every time Astro has been pregnant, he and plenty of other loved ones have noticed that his unborn babies act like him!
⏾ When the little star starts kicking and moving around, they usually do it for a few minutes before stopping to take a little nap, awwww! 🥺💕 Even Astro finds it adorable as well, knowing that his babies are little sleepyheads just like him 💕
⏾ Oh, and yes, I also headcanon that Astro calls his unborn babies his little stars because they're small and precious, just like real stars ⭐
⏾ Oh! Oh! Oh! And! And!! You guys know how Astro glows brightly whenever he’s happy? His unborn babies do the same thing whenever they’re happy too :3
⏾ Astro and others can also tell whenever the babies are happy or hearing others' voices, since the moon toon’s bump glows brightly ✨ This always brings a sense of comfort to Astro, since that’s how he knows his babies are okay and happy 🩷
⏾ And speaking of Astro’s unborn babies, I have yet another headcanon for him, which was inspired by an old headcanon I saw on a now-purged blog (paying my respects to Mellow Bounce :’D)
⏾ When the unborn baby is fully (or almost fully) developed and just a few weeks away from being born, Astro will use his dream viewing powers to check up on his little one ✨
⏾ Of course, the unborn baby’s dreams are but a trippy mass of random colours and shapes that are difficult to describe, yet that still makes Astro relieved as it's a sign his baby is doing okay in there 💕
⏾ As for what Astro wears during his pregnancies, he’ll obviously continue to wear pyjamas and loungewear, whether they're maternity ones or loose-fitting ones :P
⏾ However, if he’s going out for the day (like for a shopping trip or an appointment), he’ll opt for comfy casual clothes, all in pretty space/star/galaxy motifs, of course :3
⏾ Overall, Astro doesn’t mind being pregnant (even with all the pain and discomfort!), given how many teenage and pre-teen children he has, haha 😅
⏾ Then again, I’d probably say that he enjoys pregnancy, one way or another! He loves feeling the little ones moving about, since it's a great sign that they’re healthy and happy! He’ll also sometimes caress his belly, talk to the babies and even sing a lullaby to them 💕 It truly is a magical experience for our favourite moon toon!
Aaaand that's all of them! I'm so terribly sorry these took nearly a month to finish, life got in the way and I was SWAMPED with other requests X_x But thankfully, I was able to finish them and post them for your enjoyment ^^
