WHERE’S MYA?????? My girl Mya was tearing up the charts in the 90s and early 2000s...and then she pretty much fell off the face of the earth?? The question here is WHY??? She’s so beautiful and talented. I looked her up recently on social media and Google to see what’s going on with her and she still got it. She’s still looking hot, still singing, still putting out music? So why aren’t we hearing any of it? Why isn’t she playing on the radio? I was and still am actually a really big Mya fan. Her Moodring album is one of the best albums ever created in my opinion. I enjoy listening to it from beginning to end. I wonder if she will ever make a comeback into our mainstream lives. It seems as if she has attempted, but nothing has really happened. It looks like she relies on social media to promote herself and sell her music on iTunes. Whatever’s going on, all I gotta say is BRING MYA BACK!

Let’s take it back to this amazing and unforgettable performance of Lady Gaga at the 2009 MTV VMAs. Lady Gaga is one of those artists that really inspire me, mostly because of her originality and her bravery as an individual. Whenever she performs, you can see through her work how much she loves what she does. She isn’t afraid to step out of the of the box and be wild and crazy. She isn’t afraid to be herself. I watch Lady Gaga and I am a bit envious at times because I wish I had the courage that she has. She is an amazing performer and artist all around. This has to be my all time favorite performance from her. From the costumes and set, to the remix track of Paparazzi, to her beautiful tone of voice, down to the crazy grand finale. This VMA 2009 performance is the definition of an epic performance. Lady Gaga has been laying low for the past couple years. I hope she makes a comeback and shows the world that she’s better than ever. The world needs more artists like Lady

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Valentina Taliercio is a singer and songwriter from Queens, New York. This is one of my favorite songs from her. I just love the soulfulness of this track. Her beautiful voice, along with the soothing instrumentals send me into a trance. I could just close my eyes and let the music take me. The soul in her voice reminds me of Lauren Hill. Valentina and I met in HS, in choir class actually, and we both shared the same passion for music. Music is something that has definitely brought us together. Everyone should take a moment and check her out. She is definitely an underrated artist with a god given talent destined to take her places.

IT’S BRITNEY BITCH! Who else thought Britney Spear’s performance at this year’s Billboard  Music Award was off the hook? It’s been over a month already since this performance and I am still obsessed. I am so happy that Britney was able to overcome her dark demons because she is looking fierce and doing her thing. She looked beautiful throughout this performance and showed so much confidence; something that I feel has been lacking in her performance for the past several years. Rumor has it that the MTV VMAs are looking to book Britney to perform at this year’s show. Britney has not performed since her unforgettable 2007 performance (and it was not unforgettable for a good reason.) I would love to see her perform at this year’s show. The VMA’s have not been the same since the days that Britney Spears, N’SYNC, Backstreet Boys and Christina Aguilera were on top of the world. That’s when they were really worth watching. If Britney Spears makes the line up, I will definitely be watching this year’s show.

Today I was feeling nostalgic and have been listening to a lot of throwback music. I decided to share this video of the Queen herself, Selena. Selena has been my musical inspiration for as long as I can remember. She is the perfect role model. She possessed  beauty, talent, charisma, intelligence. Some of my greatest childhood memories included me putting on concerts in my living room while singing and dancing to Selena with my mom. Ever since I was 5, Selena had remained a part of my life. It has been 22 years since her passing but Selena lives on now more than ever. It was recently reported that MAC will be releasing a Selena cosmetic line in honor of the late superstar.
