you groan as you flip your phone upright onto its back once again, seeing haechan blowing it up with notifications. his album was coming out and he wanted to come over to celebrate that and your birthday. maybe it was a coincidence that he did this? who knows anymore. he’s a weird one but you still love him.
once you text back and agree that he can come over, a couple minutes later and there’s a knock on the door. “come in! i’m cooking so i can’t get the handle.” and here he is, walking in with the comfiest sweatpants and a baggy top on, his sliders and hair messed up. “did you even- whatever, i’m happy to finally see you. you’ve been so busy recently.” you pout.
he walks over, biting back a grin on his face. “i know~ but it’s all paid off, right? i can finally rest with you for a couple weeks. i’m on hiatus.” he murmured, looking at what you were making for the both of you.
“ohhh, your dish? malatang? it looks yummy sunshine~” haechan grinned as he wrapped his arms around your waist, chin on your shoulder. “once we’ve ate, i’ll show you your present.”

it was finally midnight - which meant that your present was here that haechan kept reminding you about and.. of course, his album release. you know he’s worked super hard and you couldn’t be more proud of him. you cherished his moments, his career, himself.
haechan saw you getting into your own little world and smiled, tapping your cheek gently, “come on beautiful, you ready?” with a nod, he began playing the album. every song so wonderful, so different, his style. and when it got to a song called “roll with me” he decided to tell you what it meant to him.
“that is your present, the song ‘roll with me’ which i wanted to surprise you with.. so you can listen to it and love it just as much as i do, and did while creating and writing lyrics that reminded me of you. my sweet sunshine..” he explained softly, with his lovely honey tone of voice and his soft brown eyes staring from your eyes down to your lips every second.
you couldn’t help but bite back a smile, your bottom lip between your teeth, your eyes crinkling. “haech..” you whisper, arms wrapping quickly around his shoulders as you brought him in for a tight hug, moving your head to the side and kissing his nape with a small peck. “you’re too cute.”
