What if "The sun will shine on us again" does not forecast Loki's resurrection?
Because think about it, if the Avengers visit Loki in the past, which we can basically be sure of because of the set photos, then they most definitely will have to explain to him, why they went back in time instead of talking to his future self, let's call him IW Loki. That he is dead for good.
So Avengers Loki knows, from that point on that he was gonna die, he probably also knew when and how and why and by whom and that, after all, he would not be able to hide from Thanos.
He knew all along, in Thor DW, in Thor: Ragnarok...
But what he also knew was that "the sun would shine" on him and his brother again... just not his IW self but his past self and IW Thor visiting him from the future... because for him it already happened.
So his desperate attempt to kill Thanos with his knive was no act of stupidity or anything... he just knew, that this was the point where it was going to happen, that he could do nothing about it, so he would just let it happen. But he also knew that at least his brother would escape safe from that place.
So "the sun will shine on us again" does not necessarily mean, that he is going to come back from the dead... maybe he was just referring to his brother visiting him in the past... wasn't the sun shining the day they brought Loki back to Asgard?
