not sure if this is a controversial opinion or not but god i wish they would open source the qsmp translation mod. im sure the code looks insane, because modding something like that into minecraft could not have been easy and probably looks like spaghetti code. and obviously whoever downloads the mod would have to cover the costs of google translate api (or whichever api they end up using). and theres just a lot involved and the user has to provide a lot of resources to run it, but im certain that somewhere out there can make use of it. the qsmp translator is still one of the most impressive technical feats on the server. we take it for granted. outside of translation, the live transcript of voice chat is also really helpful. running the qsmp translation mod on a server long term is very expensive because of api costs, but im sure that it could be useful for some people for short term events. and you know what if someone can afford the api costs long term that would be awesome too

one thing that’ll always sadden me about qsmp lore wise is that we never got to see all the qfrench bombshell revelations take place . all their conflicting views coming to a final head . the number of conversations étoiles “fuck the federation”, baghera “i used to hate them but it’s all so much more grey now” and antoine “the federation are my friends” left taper off bc there was that unspoken undercurrent of ‘ermmm let’s just move past this and not get into it’ well what if they HAD gotten into it . what if the others finally found out about qbagz past as a fed experiment, and her fear of them blaming her for the plane crash . qayp/ayrobot’s whole fucking deal, that he’d been watched by the feds for years before getting taken . qantoine literally aiding the federation in their plans and experiments . what if huh

Crazy how qsmp showed us some of the worst Minecraft players of all time. Just complete nonsense. An absolute masterclass of no thoughts just vibes. Charlie Slimecicle doesn’t know how to make a backpack. Missa ate soap in an attempt at rp. I once saw Kameto try to make a boat by putting wood in a chest plate shape over and over and he genuinely looked like he was about to cry. Whatever’s wrong with Antoine. Truly nothing like it.
