He would have answered but it seemed that the grumpy woman was feeling lucky tonight and that another pain in the ass, who had had more drinks that Nathan so far, had decided that he found her cute enough. If he seemed amused at first by the completely pathetic attitude of the drunk at first, Nathan never could stand someone who couldnāt take no as an answer and fuck off.Ā
Sliding off his stool -he never actually sat on the thing, the environment was too hostile for that- he walked around her and put his hand on the guyās shoulder. āLook man, she said no,Ā twice.Ā You are clearly too drunk and too much of an douche to understand that, but maybe you will understand this: if you donāt get out of this place now, Iām going to kick your arse so bad that you wonāt be able to sit properly tomorrow and the day after that, and the day after that,ā
"Now piss off you fucking shit sack."
Chelsea was annoyed on multiple accounts now, especially when the off-duty officer went over to the man, telling him off for her. If she'd been in a better mood, Chelsea might have found it amusing but with everything going wrong at work, this just felt like one other thing she apparently couldn't do "right" or for herself. And shit. That annoyed her. "Hey, I handle this." She set her drink down as the man jerked his shoulder from Nathan's grip, stumbling slightly into Chelsea, giving a laugh of amusement and not making a move to right himself.
Yeah, that wasn't going to fly and within the split second it took him to rest a hand on her thigh, Chelsea had already stood up, grabbing him by the wrist and twisting it behind him, effectively pinning him against the bar. The bartender and a few of the other patrons looked either amused or concerned at the scene so she spoke quickly, not desiring to be the center of attention. "When I or anyone else tells you to fuck off," she gripped his arm tighter, pulling up and eliciting a whimper from the drunk, "youĀ fuck off." She squeezed once more as he made a sound of pain before letting go, shoving him away from her, disgusted. She adjusted her sleeve and took another sip of her beer as if nothing had happened before straightening. She shot the officer a look before setting down money for her drink. "Thanks for the help but I can take care of myself."

"Awe. If thatās any consolation, I can dance other stuff than cha cha, but I donāt like dancing," he snorted , looking back at his friends back there with a sigh. "Liberated? I donāt know, my sister says Iām being selfish because I donāt want to ruin my career and sacrifice the very few amount of free time I have for a bunch of kids. Guess sheās not wrong about that." Anthony did not consider himself to be father material to be honest, and even if getting married one day didnāt make him feel like throwing up, he felt like now wouldnāt be a good time for that.
"Well, count yourself lucky that I don't like dancing much either." She hardly had time for frivolous things. No, Chelsea was definitely not the type of woman to go dancing if she could help it. She laughed at the mention of being called selfish for not wanting to ruin a career. "There's nothing selfish about wanting to preserve something that you've worked for. Like a job or time to relax." Chelsea herself didn't have any besides this very small window but after it would be back to work. She'd never considered children as a possibility and committing her life to someone else? Hell no. Anyone could ask her and she'd still say the same thing, she was married to her work.Ā

"itās demonstrated that people read even unconsciously, once you learn, itās something you canāt stop or unlearn."Ā He stared at the woman, he could recall seeing her from somewhere, but right now he could not grasp it. "Maybe youāre right,Ā laziness is the fashionable name for the disease⦠faking ignorance would be bolder and less embarrassing, though."
"Well, what do you say for trauma? Or brain injuries? I supposed you'd have to stop then? Or re-learn. Though, I guess you technically didn't stop but were force to." She shrugged, sipping at her drink before smiling slightly. "Or, perhaps, being intellectually lazy is a more apt phrase for both things."

Ah, New York ā Open
For someone who is easily bored it would be a bad thing. Thankfully I have enough to busy myself with.Ā
I think that we all do after what's happened. It might actually be nice to be bored for once.Ā
Ah, New York ā Open
You never really change. Ā
It doesn't, does it?Ā
It's not a bad thing though. I don't think at least.

What a party... // Chelsea & Ivan
It truly is. And Iāve tried flirting but I usually come here when men are behind the bar, not women. Itās strange how that works. I mean, I could hit on them, but I just donāt want to lead men on. ((He said with a chuckle, holding out his left hand in greeting.)) Ivan Malkovich, and what name graces your lips when you say it?
"Are you saying that you wouldn't mind leading a woman on?" She raised a brow, taking a sip of her beer before he held out his hand. At his words, she resisted the urge to laugh, accepting it with a smirk. "Smooth. Do you practice that in front of the mirror?"

I will pay the bartender extra to keep giving me the good stuff or Iāll leave and hit up a liquor store to buy my own top shelf scotch.
Oh, yes, right off the shelf is far better than anything here.
And I"m sure if you flirted a bit, they'd be more than happy to keep the good booze coming.

Around the Bend | Chelsea & Zach
The cold of the early morning bit at Zachās lungs as he slowed from a run to an easier jog and then walk. There were few people scattered on the trail around him and as he neared the woman heād been, by turns, running with, ahead of and behind for the better part of the morning he couldnāt help but nod his head and grin. āMorning, again,ā he said, slightly out of breath. āNice run. You kicked my ass around those corners.āĀ
Chelsea was doing her morning routine, needing to blow off some steam. These past few weeks had been hell, she and Max were now shouldering Florence's responsibilities as well their own. She had her music in, keeping a steady pace with it as she ran down the trail in Central Park she was partial to. She was still jogging when another figure caught up on her side and kept pace with her. Chelsea didn't usually pay any attention to other joggers but he was speaking to her. When she turned to see who it actually was, she couldn't help but give a slight laugh, taking out one of her earbuds. "Hey. Zach, right?" She recalled their meeting a few weeks before and how he apologetic he'd been then. Chelsea smirked only slightly and kept her pace up. "Well, you've been doing pretty decently. Surprisingly not as many people keep up as you've been."
What a party... // Chelsea & Ivan
I donāt think thereās enough alcohol in this bar to satisfy everyone here.
Well, there's enough for now. And I doubt the rest of the guests will notice when they switch to the shitty stuff.
What Now || Max & Chelsea
"Weāre already flying blind. Everythingās gone. Again." The system had been compromised for the second time this year. Thanks to the raid, Max knew of a few people he could now confirm were Second Generation but getting his hands on them would be a lot harder than before. Their boss wanted answers for Ryanās escape and the Thomas debacle with Florence; Max didnāt know where to begin.
"Well then we're flying with a wing. Whatever metaphor you want to attach with this fucked up situation is accurate. Just...fuck." She sighed and walked over to the couch, taking a seat. "We need a plan. I say we prioritize. What we need to know first and then go from there. Ryan is gone. Trying to figure out how isn't going to bring him back. Thomas is dead and Florence's investigation is ongoing. I have a feeling that however she got mixed up with it has to do with the hacking of our systems. So that's where I think we should start." It was all still guesses, though, they both knew that. This was just one big mess.
Meeting of the Brain Trust || Open
We couldnāt use the media no matter what was happening with Florence, being a secret government organization and all. But then again, Iām not paid to think.
Of course not but with everyone having an opinion on what she has or hasn't done, it doesn't make our job any easier, even if they associate her with Brava and not FMID, she's connected with the Spire and that's still closer than we'd like. But....you're right.
You aren't paid to think. Just...keep doing your job the way you've been doing it. God knows we need some reliable people.
Familiar Strangers || Chelsea & Anthony
"It was actually the point of my statement," he rolled his eyes at her, visibly amused. "I canāt cha cha by the way. Sorry," Anthony was an okay dancer, thank his mother for that, but he was not exactly the kind of person who liked to flaunt this talent he had. He sat up on the stool and looked over his shoulder. "Yeah. One of themās getting married, oneās having a baby and thatās not really what floats my boat at the moment" he gave her a shrug.Ā
"Oh, shame. Here I was, getting excited that you were more than a mere numbers man." She smiled lightly, though, letting him know she was kidding and took a sip of her beer before he spoke. "Ah, so you're the only liberated one, right?" Chelsea couldn't imagine being married to anything but her work much less having a child.

I love my job, I love my job, I love my job.Ā
This will all be worth it when I am home and have a glass of wine⦠In about four hours. Or five.Ā
I don't know.
It doesn't seem very promising if you have to continually remind yourself of that.
Ready err... not || Michael & Chelsea
āPeople suck at following instructions, mainly because they donāt know how to properly read" Mike said, mostly for himself, but loud enough for the person sitting in the table nearby to hear him as he went through some files.Ā
Chelsea glanced up at the words of the man at the table next to hers. "Or because they're too lazy to even try," she commented, taking a sip of her coffee. It was a rare moment of peace for the agent, that much was certain.
